Sunday Evening, 3rd Floor Common Room
Walter bustled in to the common room and unpacked the items he'd just picked up down at the Emporium, tucking the wire cutters into his pocket for the time being.
He put a pot of water on to boil and pulled out a pan to begin browning the meat.
Shepherd's Pie tonight for anyone who eats meat, which in Walter's opinion, should be everyone, but he knew that not everyone was as sensible as he. They'd have to miss out since he'd neglected the makings of a salad.
[ooc: open for dinner and interaction, Walter's making a very large meal to share with his new cohabitants, since he's a bit picky about what he eats and the cafeteria food doesn't sound as though it falls under his guidelines of acceptable food.]

He took another bite of the pie. "I am forced to admit that this stuff isn't quite that bad."

To the first question, he nods. "I've had a lot of field experience, too."

He cocks his head to the side and grins mischiveously. "So, you going to tell me what you've fought and how you've fought, or am I going to have to fight you to find out?"

Walter looked around briefly to ensure that Angel wasn't walking by at a bad moment. "Vampires, and I use these." He held up his empty hands before grinning mischievously and waving a hand, a sudden flash of wire the only warning before Pip's pocket was picked for his cigarettes, depositing them neatly in Walter's hold.

He raised an eyebrow as Walter snatched his cigarettes. "You will give those back, right?" He took a drag on his cigarette, both eyebrows raised now. "That, is a hell of a trick. How the hell does it work, what are the wires made of, and how come Rover hasn't scooped ya up yet?"

"Rover is this giant ball o'doom that enforces the law around here. It rolls over ya, sucks ya up, and deposits ya in front of the Principal. Well, to be accurate, the Principal enforces the law, I guess, but the Rover makes it easier for him to do it."

"We can spar in the gym sometime if you want."

"But I can't really talk about that. You know how it is." Walter looked at Pip as though of course he knew exactly how it was. With enough certainty, you could move most mountains, he had discovered.

Pip thought of several smart remarks, but elected to keep them to himself. After all, he had a few dark splotches in his past as well.

Or Pip could make the grave mistake of thinking Walter was going to be an easy mark because he was short and skinny.
Oh well, that would only happen once.

He glanced down at his watch. "Well, I've got no classes tomorrow, but I do have a training schedule to keep. And if I'm going to make sure my jetlag doesn't rise from the grave like a zombie, I'm gonna have to get a good night's sleep." He stands up. "I'm going running tomorrow morning if you wanna come. If not, I'll catch ya around. Later!"

What you do when fighting for your life is another matter - there is no such thing as cheating then.
"Get some sleep. I'll see you in the morning. I have classes, but not until the afternoon. Then Pippi and I are going to go check out locker 327."
