Gym, morning

After doing some research for Crichton, dropping by professor Logan's office and Maths class, Cameron headed down to the gym. Maybe tomorrow he'd go for a jog, depending on the weather. For now he wanted to practise a bit for Self-Defence class.

"What did John and I do, you mean." Cameron smirks. "Actually, John bailed after a while. We sorta set up fort at the stairs and squirted people passing by in the name of the 2nd floor. Let me tell you, pillow forts aren't as unbreachable as they used to be when we were kids."

She really should have known. "None of that surprises me," she says. "A pillow fort?... Out of actual pillows? And you wonder why they can break through your defense?"

"They're supposed to run away from the water, not charge you!" Cameron throws up his hands, then grins. "Eh, it was fun anyway."

"They charged you?" Aeryn says, looking pleased. "All of a sudden I have a greater respect for people at this school."

"Hey, you're supposed to be on our side," Cameron whines, but he's grinning.

"If I'd been there, you would have tried it with me, too, so don't give me that," Aeryn smiles. "Good use of ambush, though."

"Well yeah, no discrimination and all that. We squirted Vala too," he beams at the compliment. "Thanks. I figured it was good practise for the military. Next time we'll have to get your help. It'd be for the good of the floor after all."

That gets an eyebrow raise. "For the good of the floor?"

"The other floors are getting cookie. It's time that they realise that 2nd floor rules all. We've got the coolest floor and I think that green kid from 3rd floor declared war when he called us losers." He might possibly be taking this a bit far.

"You're waging war on the third floor?" she repeats, because it bears repeating.

Cameron frowns, then shrugs. "War's a big word, but sure. Why not? If they refuse to acknowledge our overwhelming coolness."

For a minute she only stares at him, as that's a little scary.

Then Aeryn shrugs and says, "They've been fought for stupider reasons. Let me know if you need any help."

Cameron whoops. "We've got the great Aeryn Sun on our side, nothing can go wrong now!" He clears his throat. "I mean; Cool! thanks!"

Aeryn shakes her head. "You scare me some days."

Cameron tilts his head. "Hey, at least it's just some? Right?"

He frowns, the conversation he had with Angel yesterday not completely forgotten. "So, how are you and John doing?"

"Fine," she says. "I didn't really see him yesterday."

"Oh," his frowns deepens a bit. "But things are alright with you two?"

Aeryn gives him an odd look, wondering if John said something to him that she's clueless about. "Yes. Why?"

"Nothing," Cameron says quickly. "Just checking that there isn't a particular reason why you didn't see him yesterday. He didn't mention anything bad so... But then, he might not know that something is bad in which case it's entirely possibly for you to point it out to him that you're not satisfied with him so he can work to make up for it." He wonders if that's subtle enough or whether it's not and she might kill him now.

Aeryn's really confused now. "He hasn't done anything wrong, that I know of," she says slowly, and no she is not mentioning the folder helmet pictures, thanks.

"Ah," Cameron nods and wonders if maybe it's a lack of experience on both fronts. He might need to discuss this with Angel. "Yeah. Vala tends to know what she wants and so she leaves me subtle and not so subtle hints so I don't get it wrong. She pretty vocal about it and communication can be important. I can see that's not how things work between you guys so it might be more up to John." It made sense in his head. They just needed to talk to John.

He's going to make her paranoid. "Cameron, if there's anything John told you..."

"No, he hasn't!" Cameron says quickly and shakes his head, he's sure it's not Aeryn's fault that John doesn't understand the importance of taking care of the girl. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound bad."
