Fifth floor Common Room-Afternoon

Pip wanders into the common room, contruction paper, scissors, and various markers in hand. He sits down, lights a cigarette from the pack that Walter gave him, and proceeds to make campaign posters. Every once in a while, he taps his cigarette off in an ash tray.

[[OOC: Welcome to anyone who wants to interact with Pip, or just wants to use the common room for whatever personal reasons they may have. Like, I dunno, watching TV or playing board games or making fun of Pip's artistic abillities (highly encouraged)]]

Cally knocks on the doorframe of the common room. "Hey, don't mean to interrupt or anything, but you wouldn't, like, happen to know where Molly lives, would ya?"

Pip looks up from what he's doing. "Er... maybe," he responds to the strange, yet admittedly cute girl in front of him. "What's she look like?"

"She's... a lot like me, only shorter, cuter, and last time I saw her, she was wearing a pink hat." Cally scratches her chin. "Oh, and she was wearing brighter clothes than me. She's more into color than me, I guess." She shrugs.

"Oh yeah, I've seen here around. Haven't met her yet, I'm afraid." He looks up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "I think I've seen her come out of 504 in the mornings." He glanced over at her with his remaining eye. "I'm Pip Bernadette, by the way. One of the new people."

"I kinda figured, on the new part, I mean. Cause we'd not met or anything." Cally smiles. "Erm, I'm Cally, by the way. One of the old people?" She stops and looks puzzled for a second. "Okay, maybe that's not the right way to put it."

Pip laughs. "You're one of the... "experienced" people? No, that makes you guys sound like whores. Er... how about one of the "veterans"? Given what I've heard about this place, veterans probably fits."

"Yeah, veteran works. If anything, I'm a first semester survivor, which is also kinda fits." Cally goes over and sits near Pip.

"So, I can look for Molly later." She scratches the back of her neck. "Where ya from?"

"France," Pip says, doodling on some poster board. "Here on Earth. It's kind of strange for me to add it, but I here it's standard procedure around here." He taps his cigarette off into an ashtray. "Oh, and I am human," he adds.

"I'm human too. But, erm, not from Earth, so yeah, it's a good idea to point out that fact. Oasis, on Caprica, which is is another planet, obviously." Cally wipes the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand. "So, getting settled okay?"

Pip shrugs. "Not too bad. I already find myself running for student rep because I was one of the people doing it." He stares at the flyer in disgust before crumpling it up and throwing it away. "What's it like where you're from?" he asks conversationally.

"Student Rep? Whoa, awesome. I'm sorta running an anti-campaign on that front. Just in case people remember my old 'Vote Cally' posters and think they should do it again, which is definitely not the case. Homecoming Queen and Student Council are completely different things." Cally nods. "But that's a bit of a tangent, heh. Back home is kinda like here. Erm, minus the vampires and the people with powers and stuff, but we have spaceships."

"Ohh, spaceships? What are they like? I watch a lot of stuff like Galaxy Quest and Wormhole X-Treme, so I love stuff like that," Pip says. Now he's writing stuff on paper napkins. If Cally looks close enough, it appears to be "Vote for Pip as Freshman Rep!"

"Erm, there was this movie down at the theater... Space Mutiny? If you've ever seen that, our spaceships are creeeeepily similar. It totally freaked me out." Cally nods, and ten takes a notice in Pip's handiwork. "Oh, Freshman, huh? Guess I can't vote for you. Shucks."

Pip laughs. "I've seen that movie. Terrible movie. Much more fun to watch if you're drunk."

He shakes his head. "That's too bad. Still, one less person to bribe."

He continues to write on napkins. "So what's it been like at Fandom for you?"

"Lived through zombies, Homecoming Queen, fell in love, the usual high school stuff." Cally smiles. "Been to more detentions than I want to admit, and I had to pretend to be a religious icon in front of the the whole school." Cally laughs.

"That's about all the highlights, really."

After classes, Veronica made her way up to the fifth floor to see if she could track down her little brother.

She stuck her head in the common room door. "Hey, do you know Pip?" she asked.

Pip grins. "Not only do I know Pip, but I am Pip. Unless you're looking for Pippi. She lives down the hall. 504."

Veronica smiled. "Nope, I'm looking for you," she said, entering the room. "I'm Veronica, your big sister. Sorry I haven't had a chance to meet you sooner, but a friend of mine just moved to town."

Pip gestures to the place across from him. "Take a seat, then. I am prepared for mentoring. Forgive me if I multi-task, though." He looks around warily. Principal Smith was everywhere.

"We won't get in trouble for taking so long to meet, will we? Only, ya know, the Principal is kind of scary. In a very "I'm not human and I never was and I hate all of you for your biological functions" sort of way."

"I don't think so. And unfortunately I don't have a lot of time right now because I have a meeting to run at six. And I'm going out of town this weekend with my boss. But I at least wanted to touch base and let you know that I really do exist."

Veronica sat down and said, "Do you have any questions about anything?"

Pip reaches out and pokes Vernoica in the shoulder. "Yep, you definitely exist," he says, grinning.

"Hmmm, any questions... how do you go about changing classes? Because I didn't get into two that I really wanted to get into. I called the prof of one of them, and she told me to show up to her office hours on Friday."

"You just need to go to the main office (http://www.livejournal.com/users/fh_office/) and get an add/drop slip and get it signed by the appropriate professor," she said.

Pip nods. "Any other sort of general advice? Like... stuff you wish someone had told you when you came here?"

"Don't eat in the cafeteria, the food made one of my friends sing ABBA songs all day. Be careful of gremlins. They're nasty little buggers who live in the dorm and if they bite you, you'll do weird things." She stops to think. "Those are the biggest ones, but I'm sure others will come to me. You have my number right? If you have any questions, you can always call me."
