There's another couple of days to go, so it was the time to get her name out there.

Plus, wandering the halls was helping with the stiffness she had woken up with that morning

Posters distributed, she returned to the 2nd floor common room and curled up with her reading for Foreign Lit.

[[ooc: Do I need to tell you to come and interact? She promises not to quote statistics at anyone. Mostly because that requires more brain power than I currently own! *g*]]

Elizabeth looked up from her book and smiled. "Hi. Yes. Elizabeth. You're Sydney, yes?"

"No, not at all," Elizabeth replied, laying the book down. "I've learnt that if I really want to get something done, I need to lock myself in my room, y'know?" She grinned.

"No, no... just reading. For foreign lit actually," she grinned. "2nd floor is the best place to be, and I have a bad habit of lookign studious, even when I'm not!" She laughed.

Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, although I admit I'm looking foward to the Russian literature more," she said. "And it's the original French. I try to avoid translations wherever I can."

Elizabeth nodded. "Same with me," she said. "Of course, it probably helps that I've read a lot of it before. How about you?"

"That's cool. My grandmother was Russian, so she used to read me folk stories when I was little," she replies. "Did your mother teach Russian?"

Elizabeth had a sympathetic look on her face. "I'm sorry, I had no idea your mother was dead," she said. "And it doesn't sound silly. I had my grandmother's cruxifix after she passed away and I used to wear it every day."

"Well, she died when I was twe-elve," Elizabeth replied. "But, yeah. I know what you mean. Memories are good, but sometimes having an object around can make sure they don't fade."

"I'm enjoying it so far. It' actually a subject where it's better to have a smaller class size in my opinion. What about you?"

"Yeah, and people can't hide behind others who are louder and more opinionated. Because really, what's the point in that?"

"Precisely. So many people go through high school without having an independant thought of their own, and it's such a shock when they reach college," Elizabeth nodded. "Or at least that's what I'd imagine," she added quickly.

Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, I knew some real idiots. Not an original thought in their body. I've been privately educated since I was four, which I've always appreciated. How about you?"

Elizabeth laughed. "I'm not sure if Fandom could ever become stifling, y'know," she grinned. "This is my first time boarding at a high school. It's not been that bad, all things considered."

Elizabeth laughed. "It's great, isn't it? Course, they may decide that it's a bad policy in a while and then it'll be segregated rooms, and then floors and then buildings! But we'll certainly enjoy it while it lasts," she winked at Sydney.

Elizabeth noticed the blush, but decided to be kind. No picking on new people zomg. "Uh, yeah, actually. Guy called Charlie Kawalsky," she said. "Have you met him yet?"

"He's on the second floor too, so you'll probably see him around," she said. "And, yeah, he's a junior too."

Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, that's not a problem. I'm not exactly the most social person around, but I know a fair amount of the students who were around last year. And I'm sure they'll be a party sometime soon. There usually is."

Elizabeth grins. "It depends. I threw one myself after the last StuCo elections. Then my roommate Jack's threw one after homecoming... guys living in town have done so. Uh, there's been a couple of all-girl sleepovers before too..."

Elizabeth just laughed. "Or dress up in drag to try and gatecrash," she said, giggling helplessly. "Oh, he looked a sight. Do you know John Crichton?"

She nodded. "I am. Again."

Elizabeth laughed. "He dressed up as a girl, in the most awful dress you can think of and called himself Johnina. Obviously, didn't get very far. He still denies it was him and actually, just to prove how wacky and insane we are at this school? Johnina got nominated for Homecoming Queen, although "she" didn't win, whether that's fortunate or not, I leave for you to decide."

She smiled. "Thanks. I've got some experience in this sort of thing, so hopefully I'll get back on," she shrugged. "If I don't, I don't and that's life, y'know?"

Elizabeth laughed. "I will confess to not having looked that closely," she said.

She smiled. "Thank you. I will admit, diplomacy is something I'm interested in." She was impressed that she was able to keep a straight face.

Elizabeth nodded. "That's what I thought. Hey, if you're really lucky, "she" may make another appearance this term," she grinned.

Elizabeth joined in with the laughter. "Yeah...," she said, smiling thoughtfully. "It's gonna be interesting. I think I can say that without any shadow of doubt."
