Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

Peter's sociology book was in front of him. He really wanted to read it. Really. But then again tonight was Enchanted on the WS network. Peter hadn't watched the show in years and he felt kind of amazed that it was still on the air. Oh well, it was better than sociology, anyway.

[OOC: Open to all!]

Macbeth needed to get out of his room, and he needed to do something with himself when he did so.

After wandering for a while with an armload of fabric paints and glitter-glue, he made his way to the common room, his maroon beret still perched proudly atop his noggin.
And he looked around for a place to settle down and get to work. He had a plan in mind for this beret, and he was going to execute it tonight.

Macbeth glanced over at Peter and regarded him for a moment before nodding slightly.
"Aye, a hand setting it all out would be appreciated," he said, looking down at the armload of assorted Valentine's Day-related flashy paints with appealing colour schemes. "Thank ye, la-."
He cut himself off.
No. No lad. People around here didn't ever seem to take being called a lad or lass by a boy who appeared younger than they were well.

Feeling a bit weirded out still by the whole adventures-in-body-switching debacle, Bridge decided that since he'd spent so much time on the 3rd floor today, he might as well check out the Common Room.

"Hey!" he says, and bounces in.

Music floats down from from the roof through the windows. (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/419040.html?view=17921504#t17921504)

Macbeth looked up at the very bouncy lad, his arms still laden with paints and his maroon beret still as jauntily crooked as ever.
"Hey?"

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
"People are in the wrong bodies today." Bridge says, a little absently.

"Hey!" Bridge says again. "Bridge Carson. I don't think I've met you before."

Macbeth quite gratefully set the paint down on the table and then took the beret off his head, blissfully unaware of the hat-hair that he now sported taking a mental inventory of the supplies that he had set on the table.
"My 'Room-Mate' and I have come to the conclusion that I have fallen victim to 'colour-tyrrany,' and so I am going to do something to remedy that."
He set the beret down on the table and reached for a squeezie-tube of paint; a very attractive shade of pink, with just a hint of glitter mixed in with it.

Macbeth nodded in agreement, studying his beret for a moment before looking up at Bridge.
"I do not believe we have met. I'm... Thane Macbeth. I prefer Macbeth, so you might as well just call me Thane like everyone else does and get it over with."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Why would I call you the name you don't want me to call you by, Hat-Dude-Macbeth?" Bridge asks curiously.

[identity profile] sea-incarnadine.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Macbeth isn't entirely certain what a 'dude' is, though he's relatively certain he would rather not know.
"Because so far, everybody that I've introduced myself to has assumed that is what I am to be called. I think they believe that Thane is my name." He looked almost amused at that prospect for a moment. "So ye might as well save everyone the confusion and just go with it."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
"I think I'll just call you Hat-Dude-Macbeth," Bridge says solemnly. "It suits you."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
"It actually happens with disturbing frequency where I come from. Hazard of being a superhero, or something," Bridge says with a shrug.

[identity profile] sea-incarnadine.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Macbeth assumed by the solemnity of Bridge's statement that "Hat-Dude-Macbeth" was a title to wear with pride.
At least it included his name, which was more than he could say for the scads of people running around calling him by nothing more than his defunct status as Scottish nobility.
"That will do just fine, lad."

Oops. Again with the lad. He was going to have to start watching his words more closely.

Macbeth held up the bottle and inspected the glitter in the lights for a moment.
"Do ye think so? DEATH suggested it first. I haven't known him for long, but I think that it's safe to trust his judgment. He seems to know what he's talking about when it comes to... appealing colour schemes?"

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Excellent!" Bridge looks rather pleased at Macbeth's acceptance of his new title. "So what'cha up to?" he asks, tilting his head in curiousity.

[identity profile] sea-incarnadine.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Macbeth looks back to the beret for a moment, mentally mapping out where he wants the paints to go before replying.
"It has come to my attention that my tartan is a form of colour tyrrany, and I refuse to associate myself with such a tyrrany. I hope to do something a little more... flashy."
He was so thankful that he had picked up that word from DEATH. Flashy was a very wonderfully descriptive word that he was sure would come in handy often.
"I think perhaps a Tartan with the colours of my own choosing would be far more fitting. ... A Room-333-Clan tartan, if you will."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Totally," Bridge says solemnly. "So what'cha avoiding studying?"
