Veronica and Archie decided to commandeer the second floor common room to use the good TV to watch Buccaneers of the Sea Not Entirely Unlike the Caribbean. There were homemade cookies and some other assorted snacks if anyone wanted to join them.

[open, naturally!]
[identity profile] actingltcrumpet.livejournal.com
Not wholly thrilled to be back at the cabins after a night in the dorms with Veronica, Archie was sitting outside at his cabin's campfire putting the rigging on his new model frigate.

Laid out on a piece of cardboard beside him was the carefully carved and painted binnacle that, per the odd superstition he'd developed, would be the last piece to get attached to the ship. As soon as the rigging was complete, the binnacle would get glued on and his miniature HMS Mars would be done.

He thought it might make a nice birthday present for Veronica.

". . . and that's how you GET TO LLAMA SCHOOL!"

*beep beep*

". . . and that's how you GET TO LLAMA SCHOOL!"

Yes, Archie was playing with his phone again. And he already had far too many gratuitous pictures of the campsite on it. Really, he ought to have been working on his photography assignment, but he was done with workshops until Monday and anyway, the camera didn't play the llama school song. This was more fun.

Luckily, he wasn't so distracted by the phone that the bacon and eggs he had going in a pan over the fire were going to burn. But he'd probably drive anyone within earshot insane with that ringtone if nobody stopped him.

[OOC: Open, verily. He'll totally share food.]
[identity profile] suzotchka.livejournal.com
Ivanova hadn't really unpacked, so moving into the cabin hadn't been much of a stretch. An early night had meant that her body had gotten the sleep it needed to kick back onto Fandom time. Now, she had found an Adirondak chair somewhere, got a little crackling fire going, and kicked back to enjoy. Fresh air, open sky . . .

It was good to be home.

[[Open like an open thing, yo.]]
[identity profile] actingltcrumpet.livejournal.com
Even on his best days, Archie found his clockwork workshop challenging. There was simply no way he would be up to the challenge today, though, not in this frame of mind. Being in his room didn't seem like an appealing option, either.

So, tired and haggard-looking, he took his latest ship model -- he'd gotten a bit ambitious and was recreating "Lucky" Jack Aubrey's HMS Victory on a small scale -- and camped out in the first floor lobby to work on it. People passed through here all the time; perhaps the coming and going would keep Simpson's apparition away.

He would be sorely disappointed in that regard, though. )

Hands shaking worse than before, Archie picked up the next piece of carved railing and his bottle of glue and set to it, his face flushed and sweat pouring down his forehead. Every noise, however minuscule, seemed to make him jump, and his eyes, when they weren't darting around the room, frequently lost focus. But he was too petrified to move.

[OOC: As established in plot guidelines, unless you are canonically able to do so you will not be able to see Simpson sitting in the chair. The post is open, though, for those curious about one very jumpy and terrified sailor, or for your general lobby use.]
[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com
Veronica had *handwavily* crashed on Weevil's couch after work last night since it was storming and she didn't feel like walking all the way back to camp in the rain. She assumed Archie hadn't made it because of the weather.

After taking a shower and brewing a pot of coffee, she decided to sit outside and enjoy the now much more tolerable weather.

Joxer stared.

There was a box. With tiny flickering images. And sounds.

He had no clue that it was The Long Haul starring Aaron Echolls on some random movie channel, or that it was a TV, or any of that.

He just sort of stared. Entranced.

Archie doesn't feel like walking down to the park today, but he does want to play with his toy boats. He's spent most of the day sitting out in the grass in front of the dorms with a spade and a bucket, carefully digging himself a little pond.

Pond digging, as he's come to discover, is hard work, and only after four hours of very concentrated work has he managed to get the pond to be about four inches deep and three feet around. But an empty pond isn't any good, so he's been toddling back and forth with his bucket, trying to fill it. The faucet took some work to figure out, and the bucket is rather large for him, so half the water has ended up all over his clothes.

There is one not-so-minor problem as well. No matter how much water Archie pours into his little boat pond, it just keeps draining out into the soil. And now he's tired, wet, and slightly muddy, not to mention becoming quite cranky as well. The remote-control sailboat and little wooden yacht are lying right here on the grass, and he just wants to play with them, but he can't!

He plunks down by the edge of the would-be pond and puts his chin in his hands, deep in thought as to how to solve this little dilemma.

The common room was decorated much more elaborately than normal for birthday parties, since it was supposed to be six times the party, after all.

Thre were drinks, and snacks, and cake for all, and a table for presents.

Happy birthday, Aeryn, Anakin, Isabel, Angela Peter and Archie.

You're invited to be the
Guest of Honor at one giant party!

Monday, 7:30
Second Floor Common Room
nadiathesaint: (classy)

The common room has been decked out for a proper tea party, including doilies and frilly hats for the guests. A plate piled high with homemade cookies is the centerpiece, next to the tea pot.

Nadia is seated at the table with Furrball twining around her feet, and an unwound Moral perched in the chair next to her. As she waits for the guests to arrive and the tea to brew, she admires her nails, freshly painted a lovely plum color.

[ooc: locked to those who know who they are. Please note: this is purely fluff! No angst/drama/emo allowed!!!!!]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
The common room had been decorated with streamers of pink and white.

There were pools of bright pink and silver glitter littering the tables.

There was one table with a cake, snacks and beverages, and another with a small sign saying "Presents" on it.

You know the drill.

[Going up supah early because I am going AFK soonishly and also there are time zone issues.]
[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com
The common room is empty, but anyone entering might notice a few changes. Everything is covered in plastic. Not just draped in it though. The plastic has been wrapped tight around all of the furniture and taped with duck tape underneath. The DVD and VCR have been replaced with an old Betamax machine and all of the light bulbs have been painted pink. If one were to look, one might also find numerous toy snakes stuffed into the chairs and sofas (both on top of and underneath the plastic - if it gets removed).

As the poster promised, there are bacon, eggs and toaster strudel available in the dorm lobby. There's even extra icing for the strudel, and gallons of coffee. It probably smells amazing.

But to get to this bounty, you need to fork over $2. Somebody will probably press a teal deer awareness button at you, too.

What to do? The coffee and strudel do look good...
[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com
Bridge has heard about the pool. But he's never actually been *in* the pool. So he's decided to fix that. Armed with towels and a swimsuit, he's wandering the dorms, recruiting people to go swimming.

[ooc: open to those who know who they are]
[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com
In absolutely no mood to start writing a bill for Government class, Sam decided to veg in the strangely empty common room. She was watching Wormhole X-treme and throwing a lot of popcorn at the television.

"Wormholes can't go two ways, you morons!"
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory had spent a large portion of her afternoon decorating the common room. There were light yellow and orange streamers strung across the ceiling, and there was a large, pretty banner spelling out, "HAPPY 17TH, JAYE."

And there were snackies and drinkies. But not the kind that Jaye had on the radio last night. Because no one wants to be in another pageant, do they?

[WAIT FOR MY OCD OR I WILL SIC THE WALLABY ON YOU. Yay, threads are up and the threat of the wallaby is no more.]

Promptly at 7:00, Bel arrived at the fourth floor common room, cookies in hand. Because cookies always made meetings better. Especially ones you were stuck doing because of your BFF arch-nemesis BFF. He had things he'd rather be doing, but in an attempt to prove he wasn't evil anymore, he put on a good face and tried to do the best he could with the job. Any mischief along the way was purely a bonus.

Parker really didn't get much done today. She's watching the DVD of Midsummer Night's Dream -- the one with Kevin Kline and Callista Flockhart -- and making mental notes of what *not* to do as Queen of the Fairies.

She's also hoping to run into some people, so she can get some answers about what's been happening while she was in England.
[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com
Cally has suited up in her Dad's old jumpsuit, grabbed a toolbelt, and headed up to the roof in order to do some routine maintenance on the Viper. She'd hoped to have moved it, as per the school's request, but she couldn't ever seem to get a hold of anyone willing to fly the frakking thing. She'd made arrangements for it to be stored over at Quark's Garage, but the ship had to get there first.

So, until then, she just double checks the fuel lines for leaks, the hull for cracks, and so on and so forth. It's tedious, but it's a fun kind of tedious for her.

[ooc: Open for interaction, yay. She'll be here all afternoon unless someone drags her away or throws her off the roof or something.]
[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com
Bridge is bored. After hanging out with Anders and Cally for a while, he wanders in to the Common Room. He flips the TV on, and does a handstand, leaning against the wall for support.

He'd totally welcome interruptions, omg.
fh_jackass: Logan Echolls (Alcohol)
[personal profile] fh_jackass
Logan had hooked up his gamestation to the flatscreen TV and was playing a videogame involving a lot of women in bikinis bouncing up and down. He was drinking a non-descript beverage from a plastic cup, and anyone within two feet of him would notice the odor of tequila wafting off him.

A couple of coolers with beverages (all non-alcoholic) were set up around the room, and bags of chips and other snack foods were laid out on the table.
fates_jaye: (up to no good)

The common room's burninated, but the second floor still rules. And Jaye (who lives in 417, btw) is having arts and crafts time.

There's glitter and felt and some kind of fabric thingie, and bows and things that stick on with glue. And lots and lots of glitter.

And no, she's not telling you what she's making.
[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com
Fraser's taken enough time to go back to his room, change out of his uniform and into jeans and a sweater before he ends up back in the first floor lobby of the dorms.

He's sitting on one of the benches in the lobby, reading a book from the library he'd acquired earlier and just keeping a general eye on things. Later, he'll venture outside, make sure the school was still secure.

[If you'd like to meet and/or talk to Fraser, the new security guy, now's your chance. Go for it.]
[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com
Peter's sociology book was in front of him. He really wanted to read it. Really. But then again tonight was Enchanted on the WS network. Peter hadn't watched the show in years and he felt kind of amazed that it was still on the air. Oh well, it was better than sociology, anyway.

[OOC: Open to all!]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory sat curled up in a chair in the common room, watching Bitterwoman and huddled in a blankie.

She was quite clearly very, very ill. This was evidenced by...nothing, really, except that she would tell anyone who asked, in no uncertain terms, that she was, in fact, very, very ill.

So ill, actually, that she would almost certainly retire to her room and not want to be interrupted at all the entire evening, really. Absolutely not. And this sudden illness had nothing to do with anything said on the radio, or any sneaky plans. Really.

Seriously.

[ooc: Open to anyone. Come call her on being a really bad liar and/or mock her completely fake sickness. Ror'll be heading out to do something else later in the afternoon, though. :)]

ETA: Rory has left the common room, whee. But it's still here for your 2nd floor needs.
[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com
Having once again conned a bunch of people into coming up here assembled a crew of intrepid adventurers, Bridge is waiting in the 6th-floor hallway, armed with a flashlight and his knapsack full of supplies.

Student Council Party - Congratulate and Meet Your Reps!

The sign on the common room also said:

Pretzels, spring rolls, chocolate fondue, and nachos available

The TV is turned to Vanessa Saturn, in case you want to just watch TV and not talk to people.
[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com
Cameron's in the common room. It might appear as if he's just watching the Cartoon Network while in fact he's making notes. Apparently thanks to professor Tick, cartoons are now great study material for Criminal Justice classes. There's a bunch of homemade chocolate cakes on the table, but he doesn't seem to be touching them.
[identity profile] actingltcrumpet.livejournal.com
Archie wandered through the dorms with a stack of posters and a large bag of thumbtacks, feeling decidedly silly as he put the posters up everywhere -- everywhere there weren't already posters, that is.

He still wasn't sure about this business of running for Student Council, but Professor the Tick had convinced him it was a good idea.

He still wasn't sure about how convincing the posters would be, either, but well, short notice. Anyhow, he suspected Professor the Tick would approve.

Vote for Archie )
[identity profile] actingltcrumpet.livejournal.com
Not having had any classes today, Archie has spent most of it . . . well, in his room as usual. He does, however, have the Tick's Advanced Criminal Justice course first thing in the morning, and he's determined to do better than he did last term.

So he's sitting in the lobby going over his notes from last term, a large carafe of coffee and a plate of *fingerwiggle* buttery crumpets muffins on hand. He'd be willing to share with anyone who happens to wander by, of course.
[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com
Barbossa feels that it's time to enlighten the new students (and faculty, should they feel like attending).

So he's gone through his archival footage of the last semester and tried to pull up video, audio, and photos of what makes Fandom High such a...unique...place to be.

He has put his copy of the holiday pageant into the common room's VCR first, but he also has tape of Annie the Vampire Slayer, the Strip Triad tournament, footage from Zombie Weekend, and Talky Toaster hitting on absolutely everything that walked past him.

In addition there's a copy of Jake's radio apology to Logan (and the song requests), the broadcast of the night Angel got souled, and photographs of Logan as a bunny, Cam as a puppy, John Crichton as Johnina, Marty as Connor, Anders wearing makeup after his first encounter with a gremlin, and the JA leather show.

If you ask him nicely, he'll even sell you a copy of Anakin's version of Little Bunny Foo Foo. He'll definitely let you watch the entire night's work of one Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants.

Come in, newbies, and be enlightened! Come in, old timers, and be humiliated! Come in, Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants! Barbossa has pie.
[identity profile] lovelylana.livejournal.com
Lana and Lilly have gone to some trouble to straighten up the common room and get it ready for the meeting. Hopefully they'll get a decent turn-out and be able to get some stuff figured out for the school elections. A couple of Lilly's posters are hung up on either side of the door so everyone will know this is the right place.

Lana and Lilly are both there early just in case. Lana's a little on the nervous side, but Lilly's calm and composed.

There is pizza and soda set out on a table, along with a bowl of M&M's, a few bowls with chips, and some brownies.

Come on in, mix and mingle with the other sophomores, and help us decide who wants to run for Student Council.
[identity profile] psycho-barbie.livejournal.com
Slightly unnerved by the welcome party down on the first floor, Callisto retreated to the common room and started flicking through the tv channels. She finally found a rerun of Bitterwoman, and better still she hadn't seen this one yet.

[Open to all.]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory glanced at the TV, and then around at the multitude of bored, hungover faces.

"Hey, we should play a game," she proposed lazily from her chair. "Like, one where I don't have to move. Truth or Dare, anyone?"

[ooc: Open to anyone either in the common room already or just passing through. The other post is just omg almost 500 comments as it is. :)]
fates_jaye: (bad day)
[personal profile] fates_jaye
It's 12:48 pm. Jaye is still in her pajamas. She may still have some bedhead going on. She is camped out on the sofa of the second floor common room with a blanket, a pillow, and a super size bottle of aspirin. And water. Lots of water. She also ordered out for pizza. And she hates everything on TV and wishes someone brought a movie. Because she's not going back upstairs.

Her head hurts. However, that shouldn't discourage anyone from stopping by and teasing (as she's too icky to care) or joining in the ughness (as you may have a better story).

She's Baaaack!

Zero is back from vacation. This is proven by the pile of luggage in front of the dorms, which has the following sign stuck to it, scribbled on what appears to be a piece of staff paper:

Do Not Touch
On Fear of Mallet :)
Zero

The girl in question can be found pack-muling her things up the stairs to the second floor, but if anyone runs into her and wants to chat, she'd definitely welcome the break.

((For those of you not in the know, staff paper is the kind lined for musical notation.))
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory toddled out to the common room with LWB III, Holly, and several other dolls and stuffed toys with her. She also had a soft pink blankie.

She plopped onto the floor approximately a foot from the television, and began to watch Itchy and Scratchy, intermittently giggling around her thumb, which was firmly lodged in her mouth.

[ooc: So, Rory was bitten by a gremlin earlier. She now thinks she's about three or four years old. She still looks like she's seventeen, though, in spite of the icon. Also, she'll recognize people, but only if you're someone she knows pretty well. And don't expect her to process a whole lot. Rory was a very precocious toddler, but there's a limit, really.]

The Tick and Lockheed were in their normal seats in the lobby. In front of them was a large tray with cookies on it. In front of the tray was a sign that said, "COOKIES! Please Take!"

Tick turned to Lockheed. "You see?" he asked. "You have to watch the junk food or you'll feel sick again. Not even dragons can eat that many cookies without feeling it."

Lockheed looked up from where he was curled on the couch and grunted.

The Tick nodded as if he understood what Lockheed said, then replied, "Well, sure, if you were a giant dragon, you could eat ten times that many cookies without a problem. But you're not a giant dragon, Lockheed. As dragons go, you're kind of wee."

Lockheed grumbled noncommittally.

[OOC: Cookies for anyone who wants them. Interaction also for anyone who wants it.]

Following his rather awkward encounter with Cameron in the common room earlier, Anders has spent several hours wandering around campus (trying to avoid his girlfriend, as horrible as that sounds). But now, he's hanging out in room 227 with Bridge, checking out the myriad shiny new techie toys that his best buddy has gotten for Christmas.

They may or may not have a plan to test some of these things out on RIC later on.

The door is open, in case anyone who's similarly not plotting mischief cares to stop on by.
fates_jaye: (coffee and a smile)
[personal profile] fates_jaye
You know, there comes a point where you might as well turn semi-serious frustration/desperation into something fun.

Sure, the common rooms might be decorated for Christmas, but they didn't have mistletoe hanging from the ceiling every two feet. Now they do.

And Jaye, who is packed for home and isn't leaving for a few hours, might be sitting on a sofa watching VH1. You know. Casually.

((Will be in and out, but come on. I had to.))
[identity profile] whitedeathpod.livejournal.com
After receiving orders from Officer Tyler, Bridge and John are on patrol for any potental mischief that might be occurring in and around the halls of Fandom High's dorms. Looking in nooks, crannies, kicking away dust bunnies and helping little old ladies across the street, no stone is left unturned in their pursuit of mischief.

A stirring in the bushes?
A snap of a twig?
A groaning in a dorm room...okay, so maybe they weren't going to check that out.

But, beware mischief, you're hunted prey now!

[Come mischief hunting!]
[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com
Cally sits down on a couch, having hauled in a crate of Viper parts. Working outside seemed silly, and besides, she can work on the instrument panel and have Bridge show up to help, and watch a little of the sharp-cornered Thirteenth Colony Television at the same time.

She doesn't even pay attention to the TV, however, once she gets herself embroiled in constructing the joystick and various other controls.

[ooc: Anyone is welcome to come on in, yo.]
