Tuesday morning, the basement pool

Walter is swimming laps.

Pup is following him along the edge of the pool yapping at him.

The pool room is filled with the sound of yapping and swimming.

Anders hasn't gone swimming in a very long while. And up until very recently, the pool here scared the hell out of him. But he's feeling like a swim might be a welcome change in his workout routine, so here he is in his swim trunks, a change of clothes and towel in his gym bag.

The sound of a dog barking throws him off for a little bit as he approaches the pool, but when he recognizes Walter and his very distinctive puppy, he smiles.

"Hey," he says, sitting down at the edge of the pool and dangling his feet into the water, splashing a little bit over his legs and chest to acclimate himself to the temperature before jumping in. "Walter, right?"

Walter stops and treads water, shushing Pup, who has wandered over to sniff Anders and his gym bag.

"Right. You're Anders?" He wasn't sure if this guy had another name, unless it's Callyn, since he often hears of "Callynanders."

"Yep, that's me," says Anders, grinning down at Pup. "Any other names of mine you hear over the PA are ones I pretend not to have most of the time."

Pup takes the grin as permission to scrabble at Anders in an attempt to do that annoying tongue-nose thing he likes so much lick his face.

Walter attempts to snap his fingers at his puppy, but wet fingers don't snap well. "Pup! Get off him!"

He smiles apologetically at Anderson. "I have to get him out before he starts planning nuptials with Al's chicken."

"Hey, it's okay, I don't mind," laughs Anders, patting Pup on the head though he is kind of trying to avoid getting his face licked. "Uh. Chicken? Not one of the Muppet chickens, is it? Do I even wanna know?"

"Yeah, one of the muppet chickens." Walter swims over to the edge to distract Pup from his attempts to roto-rooter Anders' sinuses and jerks his head back when Pup goes for his nose.

"Al's a bit of a softie for animals, I think. So when the chicken decided that his pillow was her nest, he let her stay. I'm... I am not sure if Pup thinks she is Mum or mate."

Pup whines and wiggles himself frantically, nearly falling into the pool, which would be OMG melting puppy? probably not a good thing.

Because it totally makes sense for Victor to be here. I am NOT stalking Walter. HUSH!

After a bit of asking around, Victor found out that Walter was down in the pool. He figured he'd kill several birds with one stone though it's hard enough to kill ONE bird with ONE stone and head down as well.

Moments later, wearing nothing but tropical-print swimming trunks, brown sandals, and a bright orange towel, he arrived at the pool. he smiled and waved when he saw his boyfriend, Pup, and Anders.

"Whoa there, little guy." Anders tries to restrain Pup because yikes, melting puppy equals teh bad and gives him a good scruff behind the ears. Looking at Walter, he asks, "So like, the chicken just sort of camped out and he doesn't want to kick it out? That's kinda neat. At least Pup gets along with it, I guess. Better than them chasing each other all around the room all the time, right?"

"Pup tried to chase it for a while," Walter gives Pup a friendly glare, "but he knows he's not allowed to hunt anything bigger than a ball."

Pup squirms and whines at Anders, clearly begging to be let loose.

"Maybe it when she pecked him in the eye. Having extras just means more targets, right?"

Pup tried to squirm free of Anders grip because the boy with the things on his head smells like his Walter so he must be okay.

Walter pushed up to sit on the edge of the pool and grinned at Victor. "I didn't see you around, so I thought I'd get some exercise in."

"No problem," Victor said with a grin of his own. "It gives me a chance to see you half-...um...in the pool..." he said, catching himself before he said something inappropriate in front of Anders.

"Well stop gawking and join me, then. Since the excuse reason to be here is exercise."

Walter smiled at Anders and leaned over to mutter something into Pup's ear, the words home and box and Alucard... angry might have been heard.

Pup settled down and went to sit disconsolately on one of the lounge chairs sitting next to the pool. If he licked himself inappropriately, it certainly wouldn't have been a commentary. No. Certainly not.

He gave Pup a quick pet on the head, then took off his sandals and put his towel on a chair. Then, with a mighty "Geronimo!" he leapt into the pool, doing his best to splash Walter.

Walter had already slipped into the pool, so Anders may or may not have been splashed by Victor's cannonball. Walter, however, was already wet and under the water to give Victor's leg a tug when he recovered from his jump.

Victor looked down, and swam forward to press his lips against Walter's cheek before going back up for air.

When he had a decent gulp, he went back down and waved.

Walter grinned and waved back before coming up for air.

"What have you been getting up to today?"

Victor shrugged. "Not much. I don't have gym 'till later. You? How did your meeting go yesterday?"

Considering Victor's upset, Walter decided to skip mentioning getting twapped with a ruler for using contractions.

"Better than I expected. He was quite nice overall. He also sent some biscuits... cookies as an apology to you for 'the ruckus.'"

O RLY? "Really?" He bit his lip, possibly rethinking something. "Well...are you okay, then? I mean...do you feel good about trainign with this guy?"

"Cool," says Anders, letting Pup go. "He pretty well trained, then?"

"I don't know. Right now, my goal is to get that ruler away from him. Until then, I think I can tolerate it, but he's taking a lot of my free time away from me."

"Victor! Hey, dude!" Anders waved cheerfully at him and sat back for a while, watching Pup frolic. Of course, after getting drenched by Victor's cannonball into the pool (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/424143.html?thread=18181327#t18181327), he figured he might as well get in himself. Sliding into the water, he started doing lengths, pausing every now and then to grin at the other two. Vaguely, he wondered if that was the same way people tended to grin at him and Cally.

"Yeah, just threaten to send him home to his dad and he behaves."

Seeing Victor, Walter becomes almost unabashedly distracted.
