Outside Room 422/424, a war is waged between the forces of good and the forces of evil.

Inside Room 422/424, Lilly Kane and Allison Cameron are watching old movies and painting their nails while wearing adorable toe socks and fingerless gloves.

Because seriously, the big scary people with guns and flamethrowers can go fight the psychotic snowmen. It's cold outside.

"What color do you think I should use?" Allie asked. "Pink or Red?"

"Pink. You skin is too pale for a fire engine red, you'd look trashy. Which would be awesome in it's own way, but you're not the type. A deep red would be nice though."

Allie reached over and grabbed the bottle of pale pink polish.

"You seemed kind of upset after your radio broadcast last night," she said. "Did something bad happen yesterday?"

"No," she huffed quickly. "Maybe. I don't know."

"I'm being irrational, but I figure I know I'm being irrational, and therefore, it's totally acceptable."

Lilly grabbed a bottle of a dark purple and pulled a foot up into her lap.

"Veronica kissed Logan. Which should be okay, because I certainly don't want to date him again or anything like that. And she's super close with Weevil lately. And... that's my life, you know? I know she doesn't do it on purpose, and I'm part of the reason why she even..."

It's complicated. I don't know."

"Who's Weevil?" Allie asked. "And why would Veronica kiss Logan?"

"Weevil's a guy from back home," she arched her eyebrows. "Yes, that kind of guy. He moved to Fandom and is working at the karaoke place."

"And Veronica would kiss Logan because... he's like... you know those stupid posters, that are just a big, jumbled, obnoxious mess that they sell in kiosks at the mall? But if you stare at them in the right way, all of a sudden a completely different picture jumps out at you? That's why Veronica would kiss Logan.

And he's really good in bed. But you are so sworn to secrecy about that, because one thing that doesn't need to be stroked is his ego."

Quinn wonders where everyone went, because they can't all be fighting off monsters and talking to Sandi got really boring. So she's happy to see other people. "I smell nailpolish."

"Come on in and join us," Allie said. "I'm Allie and this is Lilly. I've seen you around school, but I don't remember your name."

"Quinn," she says, coming in and taking a seat. "It got all quiet in here all of a sudden. Not out there, but in here..."

Allie gestured to the selection of nail polishes on the floor. "Help yourself," she said. "I guess everyone's out fighting the snow monsters or whatever. I think I'll stay in here."

Quinn finds a nice pale pink and opensthe bottle. "Yeah, the scary people can do their thing or whatever," she says, shaking her head. "I'd like to keep my head on, thanks."

"Yeah, same here. This place is crazy. Where'd you go before you came here?" Allie asked.

"Lawndale High. Back in... Lawndale," Quinn shrugs, finishing off an index finger. "And it was weird, but in the normal high school way. What about you?"

"I'm from New Jersey," Allie says. "Near Princeton. Definitely not zombie or snow monster central."

"Is that like, the good part of New Jersey or the part that people associate with 80's hair?" Quinn wonders, completely non-maliciously.

"It's the good part," Allie tells her with a chuckle. "The 80s hair people are closer to the shore. Where's Lawndale?"

"Handwavey East Coast never specifically stated in canon," Quinn answers. "Also known as Boringsville."

"Never been there," Allie says.

She finishes her first coat and waves her hands slightly to dry the nails. "So would you rather be there and bored or here where is all kinds of crazy stuff happening all the time?"

"Usually there," Quinn admits. "People are normal there. But now that the normal people here are showing themselves, it doesn't suck as bad."

"It's nice to meet other people who aren't from outer space or have supernatural abilities," Allie agrees. "Of course, my roommate is technically dead."

Veronica made her way down to the fourth floor. She still hadn't quite worked out what to say to Lilly, but after hearing her radio broadcast last night, she knew she needed to talk to her. Besides, after the week she'd had, she definitely wasn't up for fighting evil snowmen.

As she walked down the hall she heard voices and knew Lilly must be home. She stopped in the doorway and knocked.

Lilly got up and opened the door without hesitation, but didn't smile at Veronica's arrival.

"Hey."

"Can we talk?" Veronica asked, able to tell by Lilly's expression that she wasn't happy.

"In my room," she replied quickly, looking over at Allie and gesturing that she would be gone for a few minutes with Veronica.

She then turned around and walked into her bedroom, expecting Veronica to follow her, and held the door in her hand to close it behind them.

"So, talk."

"I heard your radio broadcast last night," Veronica said, the hurt she felt from Lilly's words plain on her face.

"Really?" she said with no small measure of sarcasm, going to sit on the bed and hugging a throw pillow to her stomach. Hurt glistened in her eyes, but her expression was defiant.

"So, which one are you going to pick? I'd recommend both at the same time, but I know you aren't that kind of girl."

"It's not like that, Lilly," Veronica said, sitting in a nearby chair. "I told you that Weevil and I are just friends. As for Logan," she sighed. "That just kind of happened and I have no idea if it even means anything."

"Just friends doesn't exist in my world," Lilly said bluntly.

"And you know that whatever is going on between you and Logan, although quite the mindfuck, most certainly means something."

"Well, you know we never exactly lived in the same world on that subject," Veronica reminded her. "Your brother is still the only person I've ever been with and I don't even remember it."

She shook her head.

"And what makes you say that whatever is going on with me and Logan most certainly means something?"

"Oh c'mon. Haunted you for a year, remember?" she said over-dramatically, pouting her lips.

"Do you really think, after everything, you can just up and kiss him and then go back to status quo? And don't even bother to tell me that you don't have, like, massive feelings for him, one way or another. You wouldn't be defensive about it with me otherwise."

Veronica bit her lip and thought for a moment before responding.

"I think I'll always have feelings for Logan," she said. "But the important question is do you still have feelings for him? Because if me being with him in any way hurts you, I won't do it."

"Veronica..." she drew out, standing up.

"Life isn't that simple. Does it hurt me in any way? Of course it does. But... everything is more complicated than that. Think about the past few years, I think we're beyond the point in which we give each other friendship bracelets and make stupid promises we can't keep."

She rolled her neck and continued before Veronica could respond.

"Look, I loved Logan. I still care about him, the fucker. But I don't want to be with him. And I want you to be happy. If being with him will make you happy, it's worth it. Because I may be annoyed and bitchy for a few weeks, but I'll get over it, and you'll always be one of my best friends and I'm not going to ditch you just because you fell in love with my asshole ex. Got it?"

"Good," Veronica said, standing up and giving Lilly a hug. "Because no guy is worth losing my best friend over. Especially since I just got you back."

She sat back down and sighed. "But damn, he's exasperating," she said, shaking her head.

"You act like this is new information," Lilly laughed slightly, flopping back down on the bed.

"That's part of the charm, sadly."

"You got that right," Veronica said, chuckling with her. "So what about Weevil?"

Izzie had been wandering the various floors of the dorms trying to find anyone who was not fighting the snowmonsters. After playing in the snow yesterday, she'd had her fill. Izzie hears some voices coming from rm 422/424. She knocks and pops her head around the door.

"Hey guys," she says. "Mind if I hang out with you for a while? I'm not really up for a snow monster battle."

After her conversation with Veronica, Lilly popped back out of her bedroom.

"Of course, come on in," Lilly said warmly. "We were going to start a new movie, and warm up from the cold." She winked and stepped into the kitchenette.

"Sounds great," Izzie smiled. She grinned at the other girls in the room. "I'm Izzie by the way."

Veronica looked at the newcomer, slightly confused. "Didn't I meet you at Parker's birthday party?" she asked.
