VICTORY PARTY! - Second Floor Common Room

The monsters are defeated, and Rory and Parker have been sprung from the clinic.

Both girls made brief stops in their rooms for candy, snack food and drinks, and piled everything on the counter of the common room kitchen.

The TV's on, sound muted, and the stero's blaring "We Are the Champions."

Come celebrate kicking their cold, white asses, people.

Rory shrugged, and winced. "My grandfather's big in insurance, so if you need counsel, let me know."

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind," he said with a smile. He finished mixing the waffle mix and stared down at the laptop. "How do I make this into a waffle iron, again?"

"The button on the side, on the right," Rory said, gesturing over the back of the couch. "So. What's new other than, y'know, snow zombie thingies?"

Logan pushed the button and watched the laptop shift. He switched on the iron. "I got an assistant job," he said. "Helping out the Vice Principal with some stuff. What's new with you?"

"Um. Did I tell you my mom's having a baby?" Rory asked, trying to remember. "It's seriously been forever since I just talked to you."

"That's great!" Logan said. "Tell her congratulations for me."

"I'll pass it along." Rory shot a look around the room. "So. Are you going on the thing?"

"What thing?" Logan asked, confused.

"The...thing. You know. The hunting thing?" Rory said.

Logan raised his eyebrows. "Hunting thing?" he asked. "If it's rabbits, I'm going to stay out of it."

"They didn't tell you?" Rory asked, her brows shooting up. "Ah. Um. No, not bunnies. Something with sharper teeth."

"Ah. No, nobody mentioned it," Logan said. "Who's organizing it? Sounds like my kind of thing."

"Angel. I'm not allowed to go," Rory pouted.

"Good," Logan said, looking around for Angel.

"Why does everyone say that?" Rory asked, exasperated.

"Rory, you don't have any fighting skills. What are you going to do against a vampire?" Logan asked.

"I have a stake," she pointed out. "It doesn't take a genius to know how to use it. Or to light things on fire and throw them at said vampires."

"Yeah, but it takes skill to *hit* the vampires," Logan pointed out. "Plus, it's dangerous."

"I'm not a baby, but whatever. No one's letting me come and arguing about it isn't going to do anything. I'm on at-home support," Rory said, rolling her eyes.

Logan sighed. "I just don't want to see you hurt again," he said.

Rory gave a slight smile. "Likewise. So be careful if you go along on this, okay? No heroics."

"I'll be careful," Logan agreed.

"And no fighting within the group," Rory added.

Logan raised his eyebrows. "Is Anakin going?"

"Yes," Rory said. "Please, seriously, both of you just lay off each other. I'll talk to him. You're going to have your hands full with other things. You need to stay solid. Seriously. Just ignore him, and he'll do the same. Please?"
