VICTORY PARTY! - Second Floor Common Room

The monsters are defeated, and Rory and Parker have been sprung from the clinic.

Both girls made brief stops in their rooms for candy, snack food and drinks, and piled everything on the counter of the common room kitchen.

The TV's on, sound muted, and the stero's blaring "We Are the Champions."

Come celebrate kicking their cold, white asses, people.

"You saved Earl?" Anakin asked. His brain finally made the connection. "Oh, the giraffe. Nicely done. Where was he?"

"In Professor Ted's house. He'd ran out of food and stuff. And can I say? Town is creeeeepy when there's no-one there."

"Town's creepy when there are people there," Anakin replied. "But poor Earl. Has he eaten yet?" He looked around the room. "Does he like waffles?"

"That's true," Bridge laughs. "And he had cucumber sandwiches, I think. But waffles are totally more filling."

Earl nods in response to Anakin's question.

Anakin was in no mood to get up. So he closed his eyes, reached out his hand and concentrated.

A couple of waffles lifted themselves off the platter and zoomed across the room to cover at proper eating height for a miniature giraffe. "Here you go, Earl," he said.

Bridge grins. "I still need to learn how to do that," he says, shaking his head as he watches Earl happily munch on waffles. "The floating thing, not eating waffles. I'm good at that one."

Anakin gave Bridge a small smile. "It's a concentration thing." He sighed. "But I'm wiped out tonight. So this is harder than it should be."

He frowned. "And that had started out making sense in my head."
