Room 225 [Monday afternoon] - ABC DC HQ open for business

ABC's completed projects are scattered about the desk, but Bridge has cleared a space just large enough for the notebook that he's currently writing in.

The door is, obviously, open, should anyone want to pick up their repaired stuff or drop off new projects.

Logan stopped by with a digital camera to be repaired. "I went out to my house today, and most of the stuff's trashed, but this looks like it's mostly in one piece. Won't power up, though, and I put fresh batteries in it. Any chance you can save it?"

"Dude, no problem. Cally and I just finished fixing Vala's camera not too long ago, so our camera-fixing skills are all fresh and stuff,"

Yeah, 'cause that makes sense. Or something.

"Excellent," Logan said. "Good to know you're a man with experience."

"I am a man of many experiences." Bridge says solemnly.

Angel stopped by. "Hey, Bridge."

"Dude!" Bridge bounces. "Hi!"

"Where you able to - " Angel made a rolling gesture with his hand, as though he knew exactly what he was talking about and only needed to stretch out his wrist a little " - fix? The stuff?"

"Oh, totally!" Bridge bounces. "No problem at all. And uh, we made a few... improvements. And I mean that in a totally different sense than the usual 'improvements' that happen with stuff I mess with around here. This was on purpose." He scrambles through the stuff on the desk and gets the Blackberry and the square thing and hands those to Angel.

The word "improvements" has Angel worried. Actually dealing with electronics at all has him worried, so really he's just keeping momentum going.

"Oh." He took the two items very gingerly. "Good. Great. Perfect."

"'Kay, so first? The square thingy goes in to the slot there on the Blackberry." Bridge says, pointing. "And then it should turn on on it's own. Um... I sorta got the impression that you're not, um, I don't wanna be offensive but- you're not too comfortable with high-tech stuff. So Cally and I tried to make it a little more... user-friendly, for you."

"I think these are built by wizards," Angel said. "Evil wizards. That hate me. Personally."

"Okay, yeah, so I wasn't wrong then." Bridge grins. "All right, so after it turns on, there should be a menu on the screen with a list of all the stuff it can do. You just pick what you want it to do from there," he shrugs.

If Angel were to look at the keypad, he might notice a blue button that seemed to be... glowing, just a little.

"User friendly is good. I like that." Angel noticed the button. "What does that do? Bring somebody who can work this for me?"

"Uh, well that?" Bridge shrugs, "is more in line with my usual improvements. Pressing it once? Jellybeans. Twice, really fast? And you'll get little pieces of chocolate. Don't ask, I really don't know why that sort of stuff keeps happening. I just go with it, since everything seems to work fine."

"Really?" Angel tried it. One press, and jellybeans came out. "Oh hey. Neat!"

"Now you will never be without sugary snacks! Well, not that you need them 'cause hey, vampire, but, you know. If you wanted jellybeans, or if, uh, someone else did. That you spent a lot of time with, or whatever, you know." Bridge said.

Angel cleared his throat. "That. Right. Thanks, Bridge. Hey, maybe I can actually get my email now."

"Yay email!" Bridge says with a grin. "Oh, and um..." he hands over a piece of paper with a completely handwavey bunch of stuff and a price written on it. "Bill," he says, making a face. "I always feel dumb with this part but hey, gotta eat and stuff, so yeah."

"No, it's okay," Angel said. Though his eyes might have bugged a little at the final cost. It was a rough life when you could remember how much a few bob used to be able to buy.

He gave Bridge cash. "That work?"

"Excellent, dude. That'll ensure that Anders can keep the dorms supplied with cupcakes and stuff." He glances around furtively, which is kind of silly because no one else is in the room, but hey, the door's open a crack and someone could totally walk by. "So, study group again tonight, right?"

Angel nodded. "My room. 9. My group and Aeryn's."

"See you then, dude." Bridge says.

Vala stuck her head in the door. "Hey, get a chance to fix my camera?"

"Yup!" Bridge says, giving Vala a thumbs-up before grabbing it from the desk. "Good as new," he's silent for a moment before adding, "interesting photography work."

"Oh, cool," she grinned. It took her a second to remember when she'd broken it and what Lee Naked Party antics were going on at the time. "Oh, great! So the pictures came out and all?" She might be able to sell a few of those around the dorms... especially if she blew them up to poster-size.

"Oh yeah, for sure," Bridge says, maybe a little wide-eyed.

Vala tries not to smile at his reaction. "So, what cool tricks does it do??? what do I owe you?"

If Vala were to look real closely, she might notice a somewhat glowy green button on the camera that wasn't there before.

"Oh! Uh, right!" Bridge tears a sheet of paper out of his notebook with several things scribbled on it and a price at the bottom. "There."

Vala nods and digs in her pockets for the cash and hands it over. "Cool... wait, what's that?"

Showing less instinct for self-preservation than usual, she pushes the button without waiting for an explanation.

A handful of candy cigarettes come tumbling out of the camera.

"Uh, it does... that." Bridge shrugs, sheepishly.

Vala blinked. "Uh, o.k. That's weird.

"Um, thanks?"

"Trust me, I have no idea why it does that either," Bridge says, shaking his head. "It just seems to happen. I think there's something weird about this place. It's never interfered with the operation of anything I've fixed, though."

"Something weird about Fandom High? You don't say?" Vala grinned. "But hey, thanks for the fix... and for the fun surprise!"

Parker knocked on ABC's door rather later. "You guys still open for business?"

"Sure, dude."

Parker grinned. "Great. Dude. I need new locks on my doors. The best you've got."

Bridge scribbles something down in a notebook. "Keycode entry sound good?" He asks.

"Perfect. The last thing I want is someone stealing and copying a key or card." She paused, then added, "Oh, and on a longer-term thing, could you guys build a mini-fridge? Zero needs one, and I was kind of thinking of treating her to one."

"No problem!" Bridge gives Parker a thumbs-up. "Uh- normally, we'd have stuff done by next Monday, but this week is pretty... busy," he waves a hand vaguely, because Parker knows what he's referring to, "so one of us will give you a call if it's gonna be late. Sound good?"
