Second Floor Common Room -- after 'study group'

Parker was out in the Common Room again, watching the Z-Cases, and rooting for the mercenary bad guy. She couldn't help it, he looked hot in leather, and swore in Russian. She had Esme with her, and was feeding her carrots.

That was so not the answer Parker was hoping for.

"Damnit." Without any other options, Parker turned back to the Z-Cases.

Maybe she could just make Jarod wear a bag or something, the next time she saw him---

--and yeah, better swerve your brain away from that image, girlfriend.

Parker cuddled Esme and glared at Wolf and Lana holding hands. Stupid television show.

"MrphParferlobsJar'd," Rory said to the pillow she was face down against, curling up and beginning to drift off to sleep.

Anakin stalked into the common room, every inch the overprotective Jedi. "Have you seen...oh."

He smiled doofily at Rory and walked quietly across the room towards her.

"Hey," he said softly.

"Get her out of here before I let her smother herself," Parker muttered. "Please?"

Anakin raised an eyebrow at Parker's reaction. "I'm not going to ask," he said, looking closely at Rory.

"She's asleep," he said, then bent down to pick her up. He glanced at Parker and Zero, then shrugged. "So I'm a little overprotective. But after the last few days she's had I'd hate for her to get bit by the only gremlin alive in the dorms or something by sleeping in the common room."

Parker gave him a look. A look which she wouldn't have given him, had she known he knew she knew what there was to know. Still, it was pretty clear. 'Get her out of here and stop lying like a cheap imitation Persian, lightsaber-boy.'

"Yeah. That would be a shame. Night, Skywalker."

"No, Anakin, wait! Don't leave me alone with Parker!"

Anakin lifted an eyebrow as he bent over Rory. "Run now?" he suggested with a smile. "I'll cover you."

"I hate you all, just a little. Just so you know. And Rory's delusional." Parker picked up Esme, and growled around the room. "And I am out of here."

She stomped off to bed. And then, she listened to the radio.

At least hating Rita distracted her from any kind of Jarod thoughts she might have had.

Anakin picked Rory up. "Hey," he said quietly to her. "Time to go to bed. Not in the common room where random beasts can find you, okay?"

"Mm?" Rory asked, blinking drowsily but not resisting being lifted. "Parker loves Jarod. Are you carrying me?"

"That's nice," Anakin said, having absolutely no idea what she was talking about. "And yeah, I'm carrying you. Do you mind?"

"No," Rory mumbled sleepily and snuggling closer. "Don't mind at all."

She was barely conscious. Sneakiness wasn't so much a concern, really.

Anakin smiled at Parker and Zero, blushing just a little, and left the common room with Rory in his arms.
