Gym, early morning

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Cameron is up too early, despite his attempts to snuggle up against Vala and enjoy the comfort of the morning. In the end the restlessness wins and he heads down to the gym. Using one of the staves from Self-Defense class as a sword, Cameron goes through the moves he's been practicing the entire week now.

It shouldn't come as a surprise, either, that Aeryn's here today. Again. Better overpracticed than underpracticed. Putting on her gloves, she asks, "Ready for the exam?"

"Yep," Cameron replies, more concentrating on his moves than on Aeryn.

And because he's here earlier than her, she has to follow that up with, "Been down here long?"

"A while," Cameron replies and quickly glances at her.. "Couldn't keep still."

She understands that, so she nods and says, "Just don't wear yourself out. We still have a while to go."

"I won't. I'm not going to let anyone down," Cameron says determined.

"No, that's not what I'm saying," Aeryn says quickly. "I want to make sure you get through it okay."

He stops for a moment and turns his full attention on Aeryn. "We're all going to be fine," he says, sounding pretty sure of it despite his grim mood.

"Good," she nods, though she has had a couple worries regarding that.

Cameron raises an eyebrow. "I sense a but coming. The kind with one T." Somehow he feels a need to clarify this.

Aeryn frowns, but doesn't draw attention to it. "No, it's just that I don't think a lot of us have experience with str- smaller study groups?" She's not exactly sure how to phrase it given the code. "This is different than last weekend's test, for instance."

"We've had a week to study, I think everyone's aware of that. Angel, Callisto and I took that test together last week so we've got some experience of sharing a room. Too bad we'll be without your pencil," he grins.

"I'm sure I can lend you one if you really need it," she says, shaking her head at herself. And while she's never led a... test like this and isn't at all nervous about that, drawing attention to it might not be the best thing. So she doesn't.

"I thought of sticking to the classic number two pencil this time. Seeing how they're using special paper for this test so your pencil might not write on it." Cameron frowns and maybe he's not so good at code.

Aeryn can only look confused. She's pretty sure she wouldn't have understood that even without language limitations.

"Uh," Cameron frowns, then quickly swaps metaphors. "Logan was wondering if the alcohol you brought from... peacekeeper world would actually work on our physiology?"

Hoping she's actually interpreting this right, she slowly answers, "It should... get someone... tipsy? even if they're not passed out after a... glass." This makes no sense and she's the one saying it.

"True," Cameron nods as for some reason it does make sense. "It's just that I haven't drunk that before so I'm not sure if you trust me with it. Or the pencil." He adds that to make sure she's following.

"Are you saying you want the alcohol or you don't want the alcohol?" she asks. She's really not sure what the pencil is.

"Maybe as back up? If the other stuff doesn't do the trick?" Cameron frowns.

"It'll be there if you want it," she says. "I'll leave that up to you."

"Thanks," Cameron nods and looks down at the stave he's still holding. "Do they give you any tips about tests at PK High?"

"Every day," she says, and tries to come up with a metaphor. She wonders if this could be extra credit for Criminal Justice. "Just make sure you get through the test. Someone will be around to give you a hint if you need it, and leave the testing area as soon as you're done. Did that make any sense?"

Cameron laughs. "Yeah, although you just told me to cheat."

"I'm... not sure that's what I was going for, but it works in context," she sighs. "Or maybe out of it."

He just grins. "Wanna drop the talk and just hit something?"

She's not hiding the gratitude at that. "Thank you."
