Sam knocked on the door, ready to help set up for that evening. After all, they needed somewhere to store the extra party snacks, right?

She looked at her To Do list:

Weapons Drop Off/Pick Up
First Aid/Medical Area
Comms
--Laptops
--Cell Phones
--Ear Pieces

Time to get to work.

She knocks on the door nervously.

John swings the door open with a flair.

"Cordy, Cordy. You're here. Come in and spread some cheer!"

"Hey, John," Cordy says with a grin.

"I don't know how much cheer I'll be able to spread, though. I'm freaking nervous," she says as she closes the door behind her.

"Join the club," Sam said. "But I think it's good that we're nervous. Means we're alert."

Cordy nods. "I tried to take a nap earlier, but couldn't. As long as we all keep our heads, we'll be fine."

"Yeah. And we have access to coffee, which puts us way ahead of the other teams." She paused. "Well, that and not having to fight vampires hand-to-hand."

Cordy nods again. "Coffee is good. So is avoiding mortal danger. Not that there will be any non-mortalness on our side. Oh man," she says, wringing her hands together.

"There's already mortalness on our side," Sam said, trying to lighten the mood. "I think you know him as Angel? We've got a good team and a solid plan."

She decided not to mention how sometimes it just wasn't enough. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale.
