Sam knocked on the door, ready to help set up for that evening. After all, they needed somewhere to store the extra party snacks, right?

She looked at her To Do list:

Weapons Drop Off/Pick Up
First Aid/Medical Area
Comms
--Laptops
--Cell Phones
--Ear Pieces

Time to get to work.

John grimaces and closes his eyes harshly.

"Phone's out of commission could be mean a lot of things," John mutters. "I will kill her if she's hurt."

Sam exhaled a sigh of relief. "Status report on Sun, Prada? We've lost her on the monitor."

Rory smiled slightly.

Then she watched Anakin's blue dot flicker out, and felt her chest constrict.

"Oh...."

John's eyes flicker back to the screen.

"Who was that?" He hates to admit that he'd only been watching Aeryn's dot. "Rory, who was that?"

"Rory? Remember what we just went through with Aeryn. It's probably a comm problem."

Rory nodded. "It's going to be okay. It's going to be fine," she said shakily, frantically typing and trying to call up the blue dot again with no success.

"It was An-anakin, John."

"Okay." John so doesn't ask questions. Not now. He just reaches for her hand and holds it between his. "You know he probably just dropped the phone and stepped on it. That Jedi clumsiness of his."

Rory continued to stare at the screen, forgetting to breathe.

"Right. It's going to be fine. It's fine. He's fine."

John has her hand, so Isabel steps up and puts her hand on Rory's shoulder.

"He's fine," John repeats. "C'mon, he will not let the most memorable event be Annie the Vampire Slayer. He's fine because he has to vanquish that story about him."

Sam sent her a worried look, having heard the quaver in her voice. "He's tough, and he's a seasoned warrior, Rory. He's coming out of this."

"It's fine. He's fine. Everything's fine," Rory repeated, staring at the screen and wishing the dot would come back. She listened carefully in her headset for anything that sounded like Anakin.

"Breathe, Gilmore." Unfortunately, she couldn't send her out of the room or give her something else to think about. "He's still out there, and he needs you to be level-headed."

Rory swallowed hard, nodding, and focused on the screen, running a hand over her eyes. Time for that later.

"Everyone else still looks good."

"Good idea," John says, watching the screen but keeping a hold of Rory's hand. "It'll be okay."

Rory nodded. "It's going to be fine. Look how the others are moving. If someone was out, they'd be still, right? Making sure he's okay. Right? Right?"
