Outside Room 238, After Fourth Period

Sam knocked on the door, ready to help set up for that evening. After all, they needed somewhere to store the extra party snacks, right?

She looked at her To Do list:

Weapons Drop Off/Pick Up
First Aid/Medical Area
Comms
--Laptops
--Cell Phones
--Ear Pieces

Time to get to work.

"Yeah, for once I'm not the one who got the bad end of the deal," Marty replied. He hesistated for a second before responding to her other question.

"Bel saw me. The first four darts didn't do anything. The last six might have made him drowsy. Most of this is from him."

Angela freezes. Her hands keep busy -- putting the assorted first aid supplies away -- but mostly, she's frozen.

Finally, she speaks.

"Oh."

"What do you think he'll do?" She supects she knows the answer, though.

Marty looks in the other direction. "Personally? I'm thinking of hanging out on school grounds for a while. Sticking close to security cameras."

"That might be a good idea," Angela agrees. "Maybe develop bubonic plague every time we have Soc, or just skip the class until Grissom kicks you out? The idea of him being your TA ..." Her voice trails off. "Because the thing is, he could shimmer you anywhere, and if you didn't have weapons with you..." She can't finish that sentence, either.

She drops her forehead into her hands. "I didn't know I would be more scared for you after you got back."

Marty reaches out to Angela and touches her on the shoulder.

"I'm fine. I'll be fine. He won't try anything on me as long as I'm on school grounds," Marty tries to say in a reasurring tone. "It'll be okay. Really."

Angela tilts her head to one side. "He's a demon, though. I mean ... do you think he's going to care about rules or school grounds or whatever?"

She wants to yell at him, but she can't find it in her. "I can't believe he saw you," she says, sounding disgusted with the whole situation.

Marty sighs. "I know. Believe me when I say I'll be playing it safe until this whole thing is over. I won't be alone, I won't go off campus. I won't give him a chance. Okay?"

'Okay," Angela says, defeated.

There's really nothing else she can say.

Except one of those crazy things that sometimes comes out of her mouth. "You can come stay with me, whenever, you know. As a friend."

After a night of battling a demon and some vampires, Marty didn't think there was much that could shock him.

Except for the offer Angela just made.

"You... um... sure about that?"

Angela shrugs. "Sure. I have the extra bed. And .... you really shouldn't be alone."

"Unless it would be insanely weird. I mean, you're probably fine with your roommates, right?"

If there was a hopeful look on Marty's face it quickly disappeared. "Yeah. I'll probably be safe with them around. There's always someone there."

Marty is suddenly looking at the floor.

"But I appreciate the offer."

"Friends, remember?" she said, eyes evading Marty's face. "I mean, if I thought Crichton might get killed by a flame-throwing teleporting demon, I'd let him stay in my room, too."

"Though I don't think Aeryn would like that."

"You're probably right," Marty said also evading Angela's look as he he looked around for a clean shirt to borrow.

"I think you might want to take a look at Alanna," Marty said trying to deflect attention from himself. "She's been holding her wrist ever since we left the sewer."

"Good idea," Angela agreed, grateful for something else to do.

"Just let me know if you need anything else."

"I'm fine. I'll talk to you later," Marty says looking over at the bureau and pulling out a wifebeater t-shirt to wear.
