Outside Room 238, After Fourth Period

Sam knocked on the door, ready to help set up for that evening. After all, they needed somewhere to store the extra party snacks, right?

She looked at her To Do list:

Weapons Drop Off/Pick Up
First Aid/Medical Area
Comms
--Laptops
--Cell Phones
--Ear Pieces

Time to get to work.

"Movement usually comes with people trying to kill you, yes, unless they succeed." He placed a hand on her arm. "Take it easy. Try breathing normally and don't move. I'm not going far and I'll be back."

Angel came over (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/444169.html?thread=19757577#t19757577). He was still wearing his torn and bloody shirt. He also looked like he was standing via sheer force of will. However it didn't look like a good idea to question said will at the moment.

"I don't know whether you were the ringleader of this little social event, but you're here and I want answers. What the hell happened?"

Angel was quiet for a moment. If he looked like someone paying extremely close attention to the sound of someone breathing, that would be because he was. If he also looked like someone who only spoke to Hawkeye because the sound he heard met with his approval, that would also be true.

"Vampires. Least ten that I know of."

"Vampires. Of course." He knew who Angel was. There was a whole thick file on him in the office. "Then the question that remains, were you ambushed or did you and this merry band of misfits go looking for trouble?"

"I went looking for trouble," Angel said. He looked Hawkeye right in the eyes as he spoke.

"And you took a bunch of kids with you. Kids that got hurt. Kids who probably think that playing soldier is *fun*."

"No, I did not," Angel said. "I took those with me who knew what they were getting into. Who knew this wasn't a game. I don't take people out to die. I've killed enough already."

Hawkeye sighed. "And I've seen enough innocent kids die." He put his hands on his hips and looked around. "For once, I can't think of what to say." He shrugged. "On the one hand, you've got vampires who, from what I understand, prey on the innocent and need to be stopped. On the other hand, you've got a bunch of untrained, inexperienced teenagers trying to take up arms." He didn't know what to say. He was furious at the thought of these kids going looking for trouble. But then there were adults who refused to do anything about a very real threat that couldn't logically be explained.

Angel shook his head. "Not untrained. Not inexperienced. We took a beating, but I would have any of them at my back any day. The town's also at least nine vampires short. Maybe more."

"I'm assuming that's good for a night's work. We don't have vampires where I come from. Must be something in the water supply."

"I used to live on a Hellmouth," Angel shrugged. He looked down at Callisto. "She going to be okay?"

Hawk looked back at Callisto. "Well, she had a close call. Much longer and she would have stopped breathing altogether, her blood wouldn't be oxygenated and if she didn't die from asphyxiation, her organs would have started to fail." He didn't go on with the details, having made his point. "But the pressure is released and, provided she can stay here the night and not move while the tube in her chest does its job, her lung should fully inflate again and she should be fine. I won't be sleeping tonight, so either I can stay here or I can go and make some coffee and come and check on her every two hours during the night. That's your call if you want some privacy, but I'm still coming back to check to make sure her vitals remain stable and the tube doesn't clog."

Angel nodded as though what Hawkeye told him wasn't unexpected, even if he didn't have the vocabulary words to match up to it.

"I'm staying here," Angel said. "You're welcome to stay if you want, or every two hours. I can do whatever you need while you're gone. I... know a little about anatomy."

"Right now, what she needs is comfortable sleep and to let the tube do its job. She's probably dehydrated too, so I'll go and get what I need to set up an IV for her. She lost some blood, but as long as she stays hydrated and comfortable, her body should recover itself. I won't be long, then I'll set up the IV and then go and make some coffee."

"They keep blood in the clinics," Angel said. He looked at Callisto. "Can I sit with her? I don't breathe. I keep very still."

"I don't have a problem with it if it's okay with her. If she has trouble breathing, chances are it's a blockage. Don't touch it. Have someone come and get me."

"I'll know," Angel said. He tapped his ear with a hand that was still bloody from its earlier sword wound. "Good hearing too."

Angel pulled a chair over to sit by Callisto. He reached out to take her hand in his unharmed one. He was perfectly willing and able to spend the rest of the night right there.
