First Floor Lobby [Friday Night]
It's been a quiet day and Fraser's very grateful for that. This time, last week, there was snow and power outages and a foul mouthed firefighter standing next to him.
This week, the lobby is quiet. He's taken to reading one of his borrowed library books when...
A student. Just one student whizzing by and Fraser returns to his book.
Another student. And two more. Fraser eyes them curiously and wonders if there was a school event that he'd missed the memo on.
After several other students exit the dormitory, Fraser frowns and puts the book down.
Something was up.

He pulls the sleeve of the uniform up and flexes his shirt and then elbow.

Whoa hi arm.WHOA HI ARM."Very... bendy."

"Am I boring you?"

Some tiny fragment of what had been his actual plan for distracting the Mountie manages to seep back into his head. "Actually I was kind of interested in the whole...thing. The Mountie thing. I poked around online and found some of the official websites and stuff, but boy, do I ever need to learn to use more specific search terms. You'd be... really surprised what 'mountie' brings up when you type it into Google."

"Also, if you're interested enough, I would be more then happy to tell you a little more about the RCMP and my experiences as a member of the RCMP."

because he is occasionally SLOW, OMG, a fact of which we're all painfully aware by nowto find he's sincere in his answer."Like... do you guys all sing? Is that a recruitment requirement? I thought it might just be a Monty Python thing, but then I caught your free concert last night. Which was... not bad. Beat the Lumberjack Song all to hell."
no subject
"Singing is not generally a requirement, no." He coughs and looks at the elevator. "That was an unusual instance of attempting to aid someone in a decidedly extravagant gesture. I don't usually sing. Thank you very kindly for the compliment but singing is not a requirement of becoming a Mountie."
"If you're truly interested," Fraser says, "I would be more than happy to assist you."
He nods once. "Unfortunately, it's time for my nightly perimeter check. It's been very nice talking with you."

duh, MOUNTIEnightly perimeter check + Fearless Vampire Hunters? Not a good thing. But answering the damn phone required two hands. Or at least it did if you were Xander Harris and didn't actually own one of your own to practice on."Hello?"

"Good to hear. Except for the last part, but even that's not exactly the surprise of the century."

"If you're still interested in mountie's, feel free to come by and see me." He retrieves his hat off of Xander's head and tucks it under his arm. "Is there anything else I can help you with tonight?"

At the question, his mouth opens, and because somewhere in some dimension there is apparently a god who loves him, or at least likes setting him up for a fall by doing nice things to lure him into complacency, his mouth closes again before one of any number of possible answers can escape.
And because it's really Xander's lucky night, opens again with coherent words. "Nope, you're good to go. Thanks for the hat. I mean, um. Chat."
Well, mostly coherent words.
