"Yeah, it rocks, doesn't it?" Victor smiled. "Definitly makes up for the whole green with spikes thing."

"Which is also cool, seriously," replied Anders, nodding. "Will you be able to do that longer with practice?"

"Yeah, my Powers instructor told me that if I keep practicing, eventually I'll be able to turn myself and whatever I'm touching invisible for hours, maybe even days." He looked hopeful at the possiblity.

"Okay, see, that? Definitely useful as a spy someday." Anders looked slightly envious. "Wish I could do something like that."

Victor gave him a sympathetic look. "Everyone has a gift, dude. You just gotta find yours. Aren't you really good with machines?"

"Not me. That'd be the girlfriend and the best bud. I'm just the guy with the insane workout routine." Anders shrugged. "Least I got the gym TA position out of it, I guess."

"Well, there's gotta be something you're good at. You said before that you're good at lifting things, so maybe that's your gift. Not neccisarily some sort of super-strength, but the willpower to work out so much."

"I'm training to be a pro athlete. I gotta work out. My career depends on it. I don't stay in shape, that contract I signed isn't gonna save me from getting my ass kicked." Anders chewed on his lip a bit in thought. "Guess that is my gift. Huh."

Victor shrugged. "Maybe. Either way, you got a lot of stuff about you that make you special. Otherwise, you wouldn't have a girl that's crazy about you. I mean, you don't need to have powers to be cool, dude. All you personally need is to just be yourself. It's obviously working for you."

Anders blinked a few times in surprise, then broke out into a huge grin. "Okay, now you sound just like her," he laughed. "I always kinda half figured it was her just being biased, but obviously that doesn't apply for you, huh?"

He reached over and clapped a hand on Victor's shoulder. "Thanks, man. I kinda needed to hear that."

Victor grinned and patted the hand. "No problem. Hey, I'd better get going. I have some research to catch up on. See you later?"

"That you will, man," Anders promised. "If not at gym class, then at lunch or something. I'm gonna try and make an effort to be around more. Hey, enjoy the laptop, and have a good night, 'kay?"

"Yeah, you too. I definately will. Tell Cally and Bridge hi for me, okay?" He gave a wave goodbye and began to walk back to his room.
