Come in, hang out, have some snacks and chat!

Anything in particular anyone wants to bring up?

"I think perhaps we should take a road trip to everyone's weird hometowns, check them out." Maia said munching a cookie.

"That could be interesting. I know Lex would be glad to fly a group of us to Smallville for a weekend and put us up in his mansion. Could be fun," Lana says with a smile.

Maia grinned "Well hell yeah I wanna see the mutants." She grinned happily. "I'd bring everyone to Seattle but well yeah its not anything special." She laughed.

Lana laughed. "No guarantee you'll see any mutants,butwe can tell you stories..."

Maia grinned happily and munched on another cookie. "Can we hit one if we see one?" She said excitedly

"Can you *hit* one? You'll be lucky if you live through the encounter!"

Maia frowned "Well...you survived them huh?"

"Well, I spent one heck of a lot of time in the hospital, but yeah. But if you decide to go hit one of them... I wouldn't give you great odds for surviving."

Maia looked very disappointed. "Well...well alright then." Maia appeared to pout a little sipping her koolaid, "Still shooting them might be fun." She said hopefully.

Lana gives her a look. "Ooookay... You know, they're people, just like you and me, who've just happened to have this... *thing* happen to them..."

"Oh" Maia looked shocked and embarrassed "I-I thought maybe they were...well like creatures from the black lagoon or something like that. I-I didn't know they were people." Maia turned scarlet and wanted to sink through the floor and die.

"It's okay. I probably didn't make it clear. No, they're just people that the meteors somehow cause to change. They get weird powers and it sort of seems to, I don't know, warp their brains somehow - make them kind of amoral to downright evil in a lot of cases. Though some are pretty decent, I guess," Lana says thinking of the little boy who could read minds.

Maia nodded and sipped more of her drink. She felt bad for the people she didn't know, people who had been changed without it being their fault... people like her. Maia finished her drink and frowned. "I need to go." She said suddenly standing up. "Let me know, about the road trip." Maia said fresh guilt washing over her.

"Okay," Lana said, looking confused. "Are you... is everything okay?"

"Could be interesting," Angel said. "Uh, little awkward for those of us who left an ex at home, but still. Could we bring folks who aren't in the club?"

"Lex, my guardian? Is a millionaire. Space on the plane, rooms at the mansion - none of it is an issue. And he'd be glad to have any of my friends come visit. So... at least if we want to visit Smallville, bringing people not in the club is fine."

Lana smiles. "In fact, it could be a really fun little break from school."

"How nice for him," Angel muttered with the petulance of one who has been mocked for the size of his own bank account. "Maybe a weekender?"

"That would be great. We just need to decide on a weekend and who's coming and Lex will send the plane for us. There's not much to do in Smallville, but it's a great place to get away to. And I'd be glad to show people my little hometown."

"How is it for night life?" Angel asked.

"Well..." Lana replies with a grin. "There's always cow-tipping..."

"But I'm sure Lex would be glad to bring us into Metropolis one of the nights - and it's pretty lively there."

"Just so long as there's a way I can avoid getting a tan," Angel said.

"Of course. And the mansion has pretty much anything anyone could want, right on site."

"Mansions are good," Angel said. "Plenty of room to roam around in the daytime. Shame I'm selling mine or I could offer us all a place to stay if we visited Sunnydale."

"Why are you selling yours?" Lana asked curiously. "Well, not that it's any of my business, sorry."

"S'okay," Angel assured her. "I'm moving out of Sunnydale. That's Buffy's hometown and, uh, it'd be good if we weren't close to each other."

Lana nodded. "Yeah, I can understand that. It's too bad you have to give up your place, though."

"Sunnydale's a pretty small town," Angel said. "And my willpower's not that good. If I was living there, I'd want to be with her."

Lana thinks about that. "Yeah, I can completely understand that. If I had to stay apart from Shep here... I don't think I could stay."

"How's that going for you?" Angel asked.

"Really well," Lana says with a smile. "I just... When we're together it just feels... right. Better than right. ~~And no, neither of us need any help in the floral hex department, thanks though.~~"

"That's good. It's good that you've got that," Angel said. "Got any plans for Valentine's day? ~~Are you sure? Because there's pictures I didn't get a chance to show John and Aeryn.~~"

"Not yet... we've been pretty bad so far about celebrating things on the right days," Lana says with a smile. "But I'm sure we'll come up with something. ~~And no, that's okay, didn't you hear, Shep's got a copy of the Kama Sutra. Plus, he's pretty darn good, just on his own.~~ "

"How about you guys?"

"We're going to do something," Angel said. "Not sure what yet, but something. We're also going to do a double date with Logan and Veronica at some point."

"That sounds really nice," Lana says. "Honestly, as long as I get to be with Shep I'll be happy. I suppose I need to figure out something to get him for Valentine's Day, though." She wrinkles her nose. "I better start working on that one."

'Cause if we don't have one here we'll need one!

*bangs head against screen, because I totally scrolled past the meeting and never saw it*

Gah. Mea culpa.

*does not use liturgical Latin to turn Angel on; it's just a ~~pleasant~~ disturbing side-effect*

Oh, hell. Same apologies as Xander; I totally scrolled past and missed this. I'm sorry! *facepalm* Next time. Were you going to do this weekly or biweekly?

I figured we'd start off weekly and then see if people wanted to do it less often. As Clueless Girl, I know I can remember every Monday. If I have to remember if it's an on-Monday or an off-Monday... who knows! ;)

Hee! I don't mind going with this weekly. Maybe send out an "e-mail" reminding club members or putting up signs? Sunnydale and Smallville can't possibly be the only two hometowns that are full of the freaky! :)

Yeah, next week when hopefully I will *remember* about the club more than 10 minutes before I'm supposed to post it! ;) And I've got to find some one with Photoshop skills to make us up some posters. :)

Xander, listening to the radio broadcast while sitting up on the roof with his laptop - (*shrug* It's quiet, he's way not sleepy, and nothing's going on in the common rooms) - stifles a 'frak' when he hears mention of the club meeting, and fires off an e-mail.

Hey Xander,

Don't worry about it. Though Angel and Maia and I would enjoy some company at our next meeting. No immediate plans to paint you purple, but then we probably would want it to be a surprise anyway. ;)

Actually, we were talking about taking a weekend trip to my hometown of Smallville - private plane, stay in a mansion, Angel's interested in doing som cow-tipping... We'll talk more at next Monday's meeting. Hope to see you then - or catch me around the school sometime!
