Self-Defense - Wednesday evening, Gym

The gym is in its usual set up, with Alanna perched up on a table, her right wrist in a sling.

"Okay gang, I'm really not in the best of form today, so you even think about making me angry and I'll sick Faithful on you. I know there's a couple of other things going on at the same time tonight, so if you want to run, please do so. Also, I'd like to introduce our new teacher sponsor, the Tick." Alanna clapped. She might have taken a strong dose of pain killers before coming tonight. "Um, yeah, talk to him, practice defense. Talk to me." She flapped her hands. "Eat the cookies."

Assuming this is before the party in the 3rd Floor Common Room, Pippi signs in.

The Tick waved to the group. He was confident that Alanna knew what she was doing instructing people, so he was a mere observer. Unless people wanted to talk to him, of course. Then he was also a talker.

Pippi walks up to Tick.

"I can't actually stay long because I promised to help Victor with a party on the 3rd Floor. But your Professor The Tick and I was told I should take your classes. So I wanted to meet you." She smiled.

"Hello there!" Tick said. "I'm glad you're interested in my class, chum! Who recommended it to you?"

Pippi thinks about this. "It was either John or Cam... They're rather hard to tell appart since one of them doesn't have a blonde streak."

"It would probably be Cameron, since he's in my class," Tick explained. "I do look forward to having you in my class in the future, Miss..." Tick realized that Pippi had yet to introduce herself.

"Longstocking." She said holding out her hand, "Pippi Longstocking."

The Tick took her hand and shook. "It's nice to meet you, Pippi!"

Pippi shakes the Tick's hand normally. This guy's got a firm handshake...

And then begins to shake his hand more vigerously.

She is very excited to meet him.

The hand shaking was getting a bit more vigorous than Tick would have expected from a young girl. He matched Pippi's shaking ability and hoped she would stop soon. He was starting to feel somewhat ridiculous.

Pippi did stop... Eventually.

"You're very strong." she said with a grin. "You're stronger then Papa I bet."

"I don't know your Papa, but I suppose I could be," Tick said. "I am quite strong indeed. But so are you, Pippi!"

"Yes thank you." she did a little curtsey bob without thinking.

"Where are you from? And have you always been so strong?"

"I moved here from The City and, yes, I've been this strong for as long as I can remember," Tick said, happy to explain.

"How long is that?"

"I'm not sure. I don't remember the calendar from that day. I think it was a Tuesday, though." Tick was being serious.

"At least it was early in the week." she said back with a nod.

"... I seem to remember Professor Dream saying the Little Purple Dragon was a friend of yours. He was delightful to speak with in Creature Languages. Do you speak dragon Professor The Tick?"

"Ah, yes, Lockheed! He's my roommate," Tick said. "No, I don't speak Dragon. We seem to have a general understanding of what each other is saying, though, so it works out."

Pippi nodded.

"Yes, I know what you mean." she said. Pippi's eyes flickered up to the clock on the wall. ~~Assuming there is one.~~

"Oh, I need to go help set up for the party. Thank you for coming to the class to night Professor The Tick. I hope to see you next week!"

The cranky one and the sweets are within a foot of each other.

I'm having wierd posting problems. It looks like my posts are getting borked.

I'm going to restart. Hope the borking is only on my end...

Alanna!mun is as confused as Alanna. Only Alanna!mun is not on pain meds, she's just...confused.

No worries. I was having trouble posting stuff. And to me this thread looked all kinds of f'ed up. I thought it was my fault. But it was just my browser. Though I seem to have made a mess of the start of my conversation with Tick. :P

Don't worry, everything is fine. Go back to staring at your hand. :)
