Friday afternoonish first floor lobby

After recovering from going to a cancelled class, John decides to set up the mini-golf game in the lobby again. He's that bored.

John tests the course, and find it's even better than the first time. More challenging.

Walter wanders out into the lobby and looks around.

"Should I ask?"

"Minigolf. Club. Ball. Hole. Use the first to get the second into the third."

John tosses a spare club to Walter. ~~Have they met before?~~ "You game?"

Walter grabs the club and swings it experimentally. "Alright. Hand-eye coordination workout, right?"

Since he doesn't remember meeting this guy, he switches the club to his left hand and holds out his right, "Walter Dornez. I live on the third floor."

"John Connor. 101. More to aleviate boredom, really."

"That works, good to meet you John. Thanks for your public service in boredom alleviation."

Walter sets the ball down and takes a practice shot to get a feel for the club.

Pippi breezes through the lobby, she's covered in grime, her hair is more disheveled then normal, and her clothes follow suit including a tare or two. She does not stop talking as she moves through the lobby and heads to the stairs.

"Hi John hi Walter playing a game? looks like fun I must get cleaned up and I'll be right back down don't feel like you have to wait for me I'm fine just fine we're all fine here now how are you?"

And with that she's gone up the stairs... It is at this time that you notice a very faint but no less unpleasant oder that she may have trailed behind her.

Walter wrinkles his nose at the waft off of Pippi and waves. "We'll see you when you're less... pungent."

"Do I want to know where she's been?" He glanced sideways at Walter.

"Knowing Pippi, there's probably a good story behind it."

"I'd hope so. If it's a poor story, that's worse than smelling like... that."

"It's better'n the first one."

"Why is that? Did gremlins steal the balls or something?"

"First one was too simple. This one's a bit more challenging. And fun."

"Your use of dormitory materials is quite creative," Walter acknowledges and takes another shot, demonstrating some excellent hand-eye coordination. ~~Whee verbal circumlocutions to avoid modding the course.~~

John banks off the fireplace mantle to get a hole in one on Hole 4.

"There's not much else here to do. I suppose I could make it multistory..."

~~MOD THE COURSE. No, really, do it. That's half the fun.~~

"Excellent shot." Walter knocks his ball into the length of flexible air duct that has been draped over an office chair and walks to the other side to watch it roll out and bump into a strategically placed kissing bear that appears to have come from All and Sundries.

"Multistory would be more challenging, I suppose."

"Wow. Nice shot."

John started tweaking the 8th hole.

"I think I'll leave this up all weekend, see what it does."

After tapping the ball away from the kissing bear and into the hole, Walter stops to survey the course again.

"Do people come and add to it? Because I think that a water hazard would be a good addition, and I know where I can get enough plastic sheeting to make one."

"It's not like it's a formal thing."

John tries the 8th hole, and it's still not to his liking.

"I think a water hazard would be a plus."
