2nd floor hallway, morning

Cameron might be bored. Probably. He's put up nine rolls of papertowels at one side of the hallway and is trying to bowl them over with a basketball he got from the gym. Weeee! Strike! Except, the ball kinda bounces around and it might be possible some people will get woken up like this. Oops.

Cally is still sleeping when Anders wakes up and decides to hit Jeff, the God of Biscuits for that breakfast in bed he promised her. But he trips over one of Cameron's rolls of paper towels on the way, and scowls.

"Mitchell. The frak is this?"

"Bowling, man. If you knock over the other eight I win." Cameron smirks.

Anders raises an eyebrow at him, shuts the door to his room as quietly as he can behind him, and deliberately steps over the other eight paper towel rolls. "Not letting you win that easy, dude," he snorts, rubbing his hand through his hair -- which he still hasn't bothered to comb.

"Like I need your help," Cameron rolls the ball. Sadly enough, two rolls keep standing. "Damn!"

Anders picks up one of the paper towel rolls, sets it down in a 7-10 split formation, and smirks at Cameron. "Good luck with that, dude," he says, walking off. "I'm off to get my birthday girl breakfast in bed."

Cameron freezes. "It's Cally's birthday?" Shit. Shit. Shit.

Anders pauses, turns around, and facepalms. "I didn't tell you? Frak, dude, I thought you knew. You should get her something . . . she thinks nobody's gonna care."

"Dude, I didn't know." Cameron flails. "Last minute, man. Did you arrange a party?"

Anders grimaces and starts to look slightly panicked. "Not really? Was gonna take her out to dinner tonight, but I sorta didn't plan anything really big. Bet I could bring her out to the common room afterward, though, and maybe we could get some people together to just hang out? I don't know, what do you think?"

He sighs. "I should've planned a big party. Gods, I am the worst boyfriend ever."

"It depends, man. Dinner isn't a bad idea if you know she prefers to just stick it out with you. If she says she thinks no one is going to care, then we might want to show her otherwise, though?"

"Might be a good idea." Anders leans against the wall and shoves his hands in his pockets. "She just figured you guys all had plans already, and didn't want to bother you. 'sides, she spends, like, every night with just me. Don't want it to seem like I'm the only one who cares, you know?"

"That's a lot of last minute arranging man, you'll need drinks and food and... you definitely need to warn people so they can get presents and all."

"Maybe I can just order pizza for you guys, or something. Frak me, I am dumb. I should've thought of this weeks ago." Anders looks genuinely miserable now. "I'll stop by Rory's, see if she can maybe help pass the word for me. Can't guarantee an actual, you know, party or anything, but at least I can get some of her friends together to say happy birthday."

He groans again and bangs his head into the wall. "Gods. I suck."

"Dude, you don't suck." Cameron pats him on the shoulder. "It will be fine. Just get the word out and maybe people can bring stuff too. Everyone's always got a lot of food anyway. Do you need help with anything?"

"Yeah, there's a broken motorbike -- eh, more of a scooter, really -- out behind the gym. I sorta had a big adventure with Pippi yesterday, getting that out of the junkyard, and she helped me get it back up here, but maybe you or one of the other guys could help me . . . I don't know, wheel it out to give her later?" He grins sheepishly. "I know it doesn't seem like the best present, but y'know Cally and fixing things, and it seemed like something we could have fun with after it's fixed up."

Cameron grins. "She'll love it, man. That's just perfect. I wouldn't mind helping out, but err..." He waves to his shoulder. "Exactly how much pushing?"

"Oh, right, I forgot about that." Anders grimaces and puts a hand to his ribs. "Yeah, I'm right there with you, man. Maybe we can get Angel or somebody else to help? I don't even know where we're gonna keep it while she works on it yet."

"Uh, good question. It's kinda hard to get up the stairs," Cameron nods.

"Wouldn't have a problem with it if I was a hundred percent, which I'm not yet." He scratches his head. "Aw, hell, I'll find someone. Anyway Cally'd have a better idea of what kind of space she needs to work on it than I do."

Cameron nods. "Best to go with what the boss says. So is there any none heavy stuff lifting that I can help out with?"

Anders shrugs and pulls the twenty dollars Quark had given him yesterday out of his wallet. "Drinks, maybe? Or at least help me hide stuff. I mean, I can't keep all this in my room."

"I can do that, you can stow it in my room." Cameron nods. "Non alcoholic stuff?" He's never tried to buy beer here so he's not sure what would happen if he did.

"Yeah. There's enough people here with secret alcohol sources anyway, I figure we'll somehow end up with enough of that." Anders punches Cameron lightly in the arm. "Okay, seriously, I need to get moving so I can get that breakfast for her before she wakes up. I'm gonna owe you one, dude."
