4th Floor Common Room, Monopoly Game Night

Late Saturday afternoon, Isabel started preparing the fourth floor common room for Game Night. By the time the evening rolled around, the room was ready for fun. A table against the wall was loaded with an assortment of baked goods from Jeff, God of Biscuits and an assortment of chips and various dips. There was a cooler next to the table filled with bottles of water, fruit juice and cans of soda.

Four tables were arranged with Monopoly game boards and space for eight players at a table.

With everything ready she sat down to wait.

[OOC: Obviously we're not going to be rolling the dice for every turn. The game does need to end at some point tonight (preferebly before 5:30 in the morning). Hopefully there's enough links that you'll be able to fake it well enough to have fun. Game piece icons are available for the truly obsessed here at each of the tables. Please note that [livejournal.com profile] peter__parker has a special doggie icon he can use at whatever table he wants. Have fun!]

"I call the shoe!" Molly said as she sat down by Peter.

Mac dropped into a seat at the table with a grin at the other players. "I'll go for the hat, if that's okay?"

"Hey Molly, and uh..." she flounders a little, "I don't know you... but Hi".

Peter smiled. "Hi there. I'm Peter. See, Game Night is already bringing people together!"

"I'm Mac." She picked up the hat from the board fiddling with it for a moment before sticking it back down on 'Go'. "This looks like it could be fun, I was in need of something to keep me entertained for the evening."

"Anyone th' big bag o' loot yet?" Barbossa asked, taking a seat around the table.

"Not as far as I know." Mac grins at the new addition to the game, "I'm Mac, by the way. I don't think we've met."

"I be Barbossa," he said, grinning. "The pirate on the radio. Ye might have heard o' me. Everything that be polite be probably not true."

Nodding, she grins. "Ah, right. I knew I recognised your accent from somewhere. Nice to meet you in the flesh."

"The pleasure be mine, Mizz Mac," he said.

"Oh my gosh, Barbossa!" Molly added in. "I love you on the radio. So funny!"

"Thank ye," he said. "Ye be Molly, aye?"

"Yes," she grinned at him. "I'm Molly. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you," Peter said. "I love Monopoly. It's fun for the first few hours, then people start getting tired and frustrated and overreact in a comedic fashion. Always entertaining."

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
"I love it too, there's so much appeal to conning people out of large amount of, albeit fake, money." she responds with a grin. She doesn't mention that she has personal experience of doing it for real.

"Are you likely to be one of the ones overreacting, or are you good at doing calm?"

Re: Table 1

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm good at calm for the most part," Peter said. "If it's 5 AM or something, it might be a different story. Hopefully it doesn't last that long, though."

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, well that's understandable. I hope it doesn't go on that long either. I have to travel home tomorrow, and it's not a short trip." She looks a little uncomfortable about the whole thing, "So long as I'm outta here before midnight, I'm good."

"I'm sure it'll be done by then. Either someone will have won or someone will have thrown the board across the room. Either way, it'll be over," Peter said.

"Mac! Hi!" Molly greeted her happily.

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Mac grinned at Molly giving her a quick wave. "You ready to lose all your fake money?"

Re: Table 1

[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Barbossa was trying very hard not to let his eyes gleam at all of the fake money. "Treasure," he said. "Can I be the booty-counter?"

A pirate as the banker? Hee. "You're the bag of cash. It only makes sense for you to be the banker."

Re: Table 1

[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Barbossa grinned. "I be completely open t' bribery, too. Jes' puttin' that out thar."

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm certainly not going to fight you for the position, have a ball." She took in the overexcited expression, and added. "You just better not be considering hiding any of it under the table."

Re: Table 1

[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Because that would be...wrong, aye?" Barbossa said.

He didn't mention the fake money he had already tucked into his sleeves.

"Since that's what usually happens, sure."
