fandomhighdorms | 4th Floor Common Room, Monopoly Game Night

Late Saturday afternoon, Isabel started preparing the fourth floor common room for Game Night. By the time the evening rolled around, the room was ready for fun. A table against the wall was loaded with an assortment of baked goods from Jeff, God of Biscuits and an assortment of chips and various dips. There was a cooler next to the table filled with bottles of water, fruit juice and cans of soda.

Four tables were arranged with Monopoly game boards and space for eight players at a table.

With everything ready she sat down to wait.

[OOC: Obviously we're not going to be rolling the dice for every turn. The game does need to end at some point tonight (preferebly before 5:30 in the morning). Hopefully there's enough links that you'll be able to fake it well enough to have fun. Game piece icons are available for the truly obsessed here ~~at each of the tables~~. Please note that

peter__parker has a special doggie icon he can use at whatever table he wants. Have fun!]

Nadia makes her way, rather slowly, up the stairs from detention, and notices people hanging out on the fourth floor.

With tables, and board games.

Thinking anything to take her mind off detention would be good, especially anything with people, she decides to stop in. She sticks mostly to the doorway while she tries to figure out what game they're playing.

Pip nodded to Nadia. "Hey, how was detention?"

Nadia shuddered. "Long." She looked around at the tables. "What's all this?"

"Some sort of game," Pip responded. "I'm not sure exactly what it is. I think it's American in nature. Wanna grab someone who knows how to play and see what we can do?"

Nadia shrugged. "Sure." She gestured to indicate Pip should lead the way.

Pip points over to a vacant table. "Let's try table two over there."

Isabel noticed the girl hanging out in the doorway. "Hi! Come on in. We're going to play Monopoly."

Nadia smiled at the girl she didn't recognize. "Thanks."

"No problem, I'm Isabel Evans by the way. I don't think we've met before."

"Nadia Santos." Her smile grew ever so slightly more real. "It's nice to meet you."

"Same here. I can't believe we've been here over a month and I'm still meeting new people." Isabel smiled, "Do you have someone to play with? All you need to do is pick a table."

Nadia nodded after Pip. "Looks like I'll join him. There are instructions, right?"

"Yes there are. I think Blair just took a copy of them. It's pretty simple."

"Okay." Nadia stepped forward. "Guess I'd better go get learning, huh."

"Start learning. If it's okay, maybe once things slow down a bit, can I come play with you guys?"

Nadia shrugged. "I don't mind. And I don't think Pip would either. I don't know Blair well enough to say."

"Great, that's part of the reason for Game Night. To help everyone meet new people, it's helping me already. I'll be over in a few minutes. Just let me know what piece you want me to play."

"Um, okay," Nadia headed over to sit down.
