fandomhighdorms | 4th Floor Common Room, Monopoly Game Night

Late Saturday afternoon, Isabel started preparing the fourth floor common room for Game Night. By the time the evening rolled around, the room was ready for fun. A table against the wall was loaded with an assortment of baked goods from Jeff, God of Biscuits and an assortment of chips and various dips. There was a cooler next to the table filled with bottles of water, fruit juice and cans of soda.

Four tables were arranged with Monopoly game boards and space for eight players at a table.

With everything ready she sat down to wait.

[OOC: Obviously we're not going to be rolling the dice for every turn. The game does need to end at some point tonight (preferebly before 5:30 in the morning). Hopefully there's enough links that you'll be able to fake it well enough to have fun. Game piece icons are available for the truly obsessed here ~~at each of the tables~~. Please note that

peter__parker has a special doggie icon he can use at whatever table he wants. Have fun!]

"I'm not sure," she says. "It's been... a really long day."

"Really? That's too bad." She smiled, "I tried to take it sort of easy after waking up on Rory's floor. Thank God, I hadn't had anything to drink last night. If you're not feeling up to it, don't feel like you have to stay. I certainly understand if you want to get some sleep."

"I'll stay for a while, at least see how things are played," she says. "So I'll know for next time."

"That'll be great. Monopoly is a fun game to play. Things are just a little crazy right now because there's so many people." She stopped and thought for a second, "Actually, there's a game night we're planning for after the trivia one. It's called Risk. It's a strategy game where you and your armies try to take over the world. I have a feeling you'll be great at that."

Aeryn raises her eyebrows. "I definitely think I can get behind that one..."

"As long as you have decent luck with rolling the dice, I have a feeling you'll be the winner."

She frowned, and hoped Aeryn wouldn't think she's being nosy. "Is everything okay?"

She nods. "Study group-related, I guess you could say. I'll just be watching the door the door for a while again."

"Oh crap." And then she remembered the radio broadcasts. "Is this about Darla getting a soul?"

"Supposedly," Aeryn says. "I'll believe it when she proves it. Until then..."

"Until then you're on guard duty?" Isabel asked. "I thought she can't get into the school."

"Well, with Rover, she couldn't. I'm not sure how security is working now, but when her focus is Angel and he's rooming with John? I'd rather not take chances. I'll take guard duty."

"That sucks. Any chance of getting of getting a new room for the time being?"

"I doubt John would, even if I asked. And really, it's his and Angel's room and their decision on what to do. I can only roll my eyes and help where I can."

"Well if there's anything I can do." She shrugged, "I know I'm no where near ready to fight. But if you need someone to stand watch once in awhile so you can sleep. I can listen well..."

"Thanks," Aeryn says, not having expected that offer. "It'll probably be fine, it's just..."

"No, I get it. Darla's scary. And until you know what's up. It's better to lose a little sleep and be safe, then ignore the situation and then find out you should have been worried."

Aeryn actually almost smiles. "I should have you explain that to John sometime."

"It just makes sense," Isabel smiled. "Has John ever met Darla? Because it's hard to get the idea of how scary they are until you meet them face to face."

"I don't think so. I've never even met her, just seen her across the bar at Caritas," she admits. "But he knows Drusilla and he worried about me going after them, so I think he gets it. At least a little."

"Yeah, it's definitely different when they're calling you dinner," Isabel frowned, remembering.

"Yeah," Aeryn says. And even though Drusilla made the threats, it doesn't make Darla any less of one. "I really should figure out a new weapons stockpile. Mine won't kill them. Study group taught us a lot of things."

"Talking to Angel it seems like the basic stake is the way to go. But I'd prefer not to be that close to them. At least not yet."

"I've seen stranger," she admits. "I just wasn't expecting to get thrown around like I did. Something to think about if there's ever a next time."

"What can be done to counter that? Maybe you should have had tranquilizers with you? It seemed like they worked when Janet used them."

"I need to not get grabbed by the throat next time," she says. "I just wasn't prepared for that kind of strength. I probably should have asked to spar with Angel beforehand, maybe. I had very good backup, though."
