Late Saturday afternoon, Isabel started preparing the fourth floor common room for Game Night. By the time the evening rolled around, the room was ready for fun. A table against the wall was loaded with an assortment of baked goods from Jeff, God of Biscuits and an assortment of chips and various dips. There was a cooler next to the table filled with bottles of water, fruit juice and cans of soda.

Four tables were arranged with Monopoly game boards and space for eight players at a table.

With everything ready she sat down to wait.

[OOC: Obviously we're not going to be rolling the dice for every turn. The game does need to end at some point tonight (preferebly before 5:30 in the morning). Hopefully there's enough links that you'll be able to fake it well enough to have fun. Game piece icons are available for the truly obsessed here ~~at each of the tables~~. Please note that

Isabel came over, "Is it okay if I join you?"

"Do you know how to play the game?" Pip responded. "'Cause we're kind of clueless."

"Pretty much. You roll the dice and make your way around the board. As you land on properties, you can buy them. Once you own properties people who land on them have to pay you rent. Buy all the properties and you can build houses and hotels on them. They'll earn you more rent money. Basically you want to be the one with the most money at the end of the game." Isabel might have bee a bit out of breath when she finished.

Nadia frowned. "Buy all the properties on the board? Won't that take awhile?"

"It can take awhile. But it's fun. Depending on the people you're playing with, it can get pretty competitive."

Nadia picks up some of the community chest and chance cards. "Okay, what are these?"

Isabel pointed to the board. "When you land on those spots, you pick one of those cards. Sometimes you'll win money, sometimes you'll have to pay the bank."

Nadia flipped through the cards, and spotted one that said "go to jail" on it. She holds it up. "And sometimes you win the detention lottery?"

"And sometimes you win the detention lottery. If you get sent to jail you miss a turn. If you happen to land on jail when you throw the dice, you're just visiting. Oh wait, detention lottery? Did you get picked for that? That's horrible."

Nadia nodded. "Spent all day being punished for not doing anything."

Until, you know, she did, and then she was punished for doing something because she was mad about being punished for not doing anything.

It was enough to make her head spin.

"Well hopefully you're not eligible for the stupid lottery again. And if you are, maybe that's something Student Council should talk to the administration about. Because winning once is bad enough."

"Can Student Council talk to the administration about getting rid of it completely? We have a different principal now, and everything,"

"I'll have to ask. The worse they can say is no."

Nadia isn't entirely certain that's the worst a school administration can do on this island, but she nods anyway. "Well, we innocent students would thank you."

"I'll bring it up at this Friday's meeting."
