fandomhighdorms | 4th Floor Common Room, Monopoly Game Night

Late Saturday afternoon, Isabel started preparing the fourth floor common room for Game Night. By the time the evening rolled around, the room was ready for fun. A table against the wall was loaded with an assortment of baked goods from Jeff, God of Biscuits and an assortment of chips and various dips. There was a cooler next to the table filled with bottles of water, fruit juice and cans of soda.

Four tables were arranged with Monopoly game boards and space for eight players at a table.

With everything ready she sat down to wait.

[OOC: Obviously we're not going to be rolling the dice for every turn. The game does need to end at some point tonight (preferebly before 5:30 in the morning). Hopefully there's enough links that you'll be able to fake it well enough to have fun. Game piece icons are available for the truly obsessed here ~~at each of the tables~~. Please note that

peter__parker has a special doggie icon he can use at whatever table he wants. Have fun!]

Aeryn barely remembers that, but does appreciate it. Unfortunately, there's more of a reason to be worried about things like that now. "There are some things we need to talk about. Regarding the reasoning behind that."

He frowns and tries not to look too nervous.

"Something's happened?"

"Darla was arrested. She's claiming she's souled now," she says, her voice indicating what she thinks of that.

"Darla?" It takes him a moment to remember that name. "Oh. Oh! Souled? Like Angel's souled?"

"So she says."

"Are you okay?"

"Wouldn't be surprised if she goes to Angel for help," she says, noting that she wouldn't be surprised if he bought the act. It's not really answering the question, but in another way, yes it is.

"Hmm." He reaches for her hand. "Want me to sleep in your room tonight?"

That... was really unexpected. "You're not going to tell me I'm worrying for nothing?" she asks in surprise.

"Not tonight," he says and kisses her hand. "I have my reasons. So, is that a yes to your room?"

"We can stay in yours," she says, still a little shocked. "She's in jail, Tex and the troopers have an eye on her right now."

"Okay," he says and smiles. "Are you going to be able to sleep tonight?"

"At least a little," she says with a little shrug. "If she's playing at being souled, it would be a bad move to break out and..." Not right away, anyway. "I'm okay."

"Okay," he says and smiles again. "We'll handle it together. Or you'll kick ass and I'll cheer you on."

She actually smiles a little at that. "Did you do something and are trying to make up for it?" she asks, half-joking.

"It's been a long day," he says as explanation.

She slides an arm around his waist. "Everything okay?"

He leans his head against her. "Just a long day. Too early, too much school, tired."

She tightens her arm around him a little. "Do you want to stay?" she asks.

"We can stay," he says, shrugging. "I don't want to drag you down with my mood."

"And I'm in a terrific one myself," she points out, though she was expecting a little argument about Darla to put her in a worse mood. Now she's just kind of irriated at the situation instead of angry and upset. "It's up to you."

"No, it's up to you," John says, kissing the patch of skin behind her ear. "I can stay if you stay. I can go if you go. I don't wanna be alone right now."

She wasn't expecting that, either. "You won't be," she assures him quietly. "Come on."
