Second Floor Common Room - Lateish Evening

After putting in an appearance at Jack's party, Rory retrieved Vladdie from her room and changed into the cozy, cozy jammies Jake had given her for Christmas.

She hopped out into the common room, set Vladdie down on the floor, and took up the remote while keeping the puppy carefully in her sights.

"Speaking from experience, space people can be fairly boring. Not that you are. Which totally came out wrong." Ivanova smiled a bit. "Sorry. I know people who would find modern day Connecticut fascinating. G'Kar, for example. I couldn't keep track of him all weekend. He was so enthused by little things like water fountains and light switches."

Ivanova held up a hand as if about to perform a magic trick. Then, with a flourish, she pulled a flattened origami crane from her pocket, displaying it as if to show that there were no strings attached, then pulled the wings to fluff it out. Ivanova grinned at Rory. "I never believed in magic before."

"I didn't, actually," Ivanova replied with what was rapidly becoming a sappy smile. "Tonks, the witch who works at Wonka's with me, did it for me. I thought it was sweet, so I kept it."

The wee crane brushed across her cheek, like it always did when she mentioned Tonks.

"I wouldn't doubt it." Okay, Ivanova? This sappy smiling shit has got to go. You are Ivanova. You do not smile sappily. So stop it. "She's clever like that."

"So maybe that was how she did it," Ivanova replied. "Somehow she had me up on stage with her at Caritas singing drinking songs."

"Usually I need far more alcohol than I consumed to do something even remotely resembling karaoke," she replied. "Tonks is a force to be reckoned with, though."
