Second Floor Common Room, Tuesday Night, Oregon Statehood Day

Trying to ignore everyone coupling off all over the damn school, Sam turned on the Aaron Echolls film festival and prepared to lose herself in the movies. She had a large bowl of popcorn and bottle of diet coke and settled into one of the chairs.

Of course, she was immensely interruptable.

[ooc: For anyone without a significant other, abandoned by them, or protesting Valentine's Day in general.]

"Yeah, always have been." Alanna blinked at Miss Parker. "Oh, the bear!" She glanced down at him. "Yeah. What is that?" She indicated the program on the TV.

"Logan Echolls' dad, doing a crappy job of disarming a bomb." Parker shook her head sadly. "And they wonder why he didn't an Oscar for this. You don't give Oscars for sub-par disarming skills. Pull up a cushion and mock with us."

Alanna snuggled her teddy bear, half wishing he would turn into the person he was from, and stared at the screen. "Why are they trying to shoot the building behind him now? Or him? Or something like that." She blinked. "Wait, Logan's dad? Huh?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
"They're the bad guys. I think they're terrorists? They're trying to take him out, by taking out the building. That trick never works." Parker shook her head. The scriptwriters really should have taken ACJ with Professor Tick.

"Aaron Echolls is Logan Echolls' dad. For reasons that I won't go into, he's not making any more movies." Parker threw back a few more kernels of popcorn. "Although I think the particular movie might be a contributing factor."

"Oh. We need to start a 'dead parents society' I think. No offense to anyone, I'm short two." Alanna is oddly calm about that fact. Teddy has floated over to Miss Parker and is now hovering near her head.

Parker's eyes get very big, but her voice stays calm. "Alanna? Is it supposed to do that?"

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna moved a finger. Teddy waved his paw. "Oh, that's me. Telekinesis is a nice side effect of being Gifted. At least, for me."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh." Parker immediately relaxes, then pouts. "Another one? Damn. You and Bridge and Anakin. And all I can do is make the sand flutter." She batted at Teddy's foot. "Not fair. It looks like fun, though."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna made Teddy's foot kick back. "Aw. No kicking the Teddy! Telekinesis is the easiest skill to master." She made Teddy do a cartwheel. "But, you hafta be born with it." She blinked at the screen. "Why did the truck just explode?"

"Because they shot the gas tank. And no, in real life, it doesn't work like that." Parker tilted her head. "But it's amazingly destructive, isn't it? Bridge said anyone could learn, and he and Hamlet swear I moved his practice sand. Just a little." Parker watched the wheeling teddybear, and shook her head. "I *so* wish I could throw couches at people with my mind."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna laughed. "That is cool. Not that I've thrown couches at people." She paused. "They were more like chairs. I don't know, maybe there's different types of tk?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
"PRobably. There's different types of everything else." Parker sighs, then says, "And you never *did* say where the bear came from. Or why it's your new TK toy."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna sighed. "I complained to Jon about this stupid holiday. Apparently, I complained enough that he got a clue and used my twine to order me flowers and a stuffed bear. I have no idea why I'm making him fly around except that it's fun. And macking Faithful jealous." Faithful glared.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Ahhh. Right, the long-distance guy. Glad he did his bit." Parker smiled, then reached out to pet Faithful behind the ears. "Honestly, would you want her to fly you around the room?" Parker asked the cat. "'Cause that's kinda... a frightening thought."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Faithful purred and rubbed up against Miss Parker's hand. "You're right, she can let the idiot fly." Faithful didn't specify who the idiot was. Alanna glanced at her cat and at her new toy. "Someday's, I can't believe my life."
