Trying to ignore everyone coupling off all over the damn school, Sam turned on the Aaron Echolls film festival and prepared to lose herself in the movies. She had a large bowl of popcorn and bottle of diet coke and settled into one of the chairs.

Of course, she was immensely interruptable.

Sam started giggling. "Has the man lost his mind?"

"Evidently. I plan on being their with popcorn to mock. If he survives first contact with Miho, it could be amusing." She thought back over what Sam had just said. "Found Lee? What? He wasn't just taking a long camping trip on his own? The hell?"

"In the clearing. With my auntie." Sam didn't really know how much more she could say.

Parker's eyes got big. "Okay. Bizarre on multiple levels I'd never considered existing before. Is he okay? I hope?"

"He seems fine," Sam shrugged, "but I don't know if he wants to talk about it."

"As you don't, when held hostage by someone's... aunt." Parker frowned. "You really have to explain that sometime, after I whap your Jack upside the head. What's he thinking? At least the Jack I'm with on occasion has the excuse of me not asking him to do Valentine's Day stuff either."

Yeah, she really didn't. "I have no idea what he's thinking, but I think this is it. I can't deal with this anymore. I saw him more when I was single."

"Want me to hold him down, or just hold your coat?" Parker asked, offering her an espresso bean.

Sam took the bean and crunched it. "I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. I'll let you know."

"Sure. What are friends for?" Parker shook her head. "Aside from watching Echolls movies with popcorn and snark, that is."

"Make sure you take Lee with you," Sam grinned, taking a handful of popcorn, "He was all set to avenge my honor earlier."

"Oh, *really*," Parker said in delight. "God, that's so him. He was worried about me posing for Gavin, too. Right. Sir Apollo of the Arms recruited for Jack's ass-kicking." She grinned.

"It's been so long since I've seen a gentleman, I think I've forgotten what they look like," Sam snickered, "except then I remember Lee, Crichton, Marty, and Cameron and hope for continuation of the species is not lost."

"Except that Crichton's insane. I'll grant you the other three, even Marty now that we've reached detente and Angela has him back under control. He's a lot more bearable when they're dating." Parker snickered. "And Jack Harkness can be a gentleman when he's not being a smartass. There really are so very-- unique guys at this school."

"The fact that he's nuts doesn't make him any less of a gentleman," Sam said, giggling, "and I'll give you that Harkness can be a gentleman when he wants to, though I think he's more fun when he doesn't."

"Oh yes," Parker instantly agreed. "Damn, yes. It occurs to me that I have less reason than most to be bitter on Valentine's. I'm just annoyed. I could ravish Xander if I wanted to, Jack's around and up for anything somewhere, and the rest of the guys around here are pure entertainment. Once we've dealt with O'Neill, we'll hook you up with someone fun."

As good as the prospect of someone fun sounded, Sam wasn't sure she was comfortable with the idea of dating a real teenager. "Like who?"

Parker looked thoughtful as she remembered Carter's mental age and the mental age of the guys around them. "A townie? There's got to be one or two who aren't intimidated by blonde genius. Jarod might know somebody."

"I'll keep an eye out, but I'm not overly optimistic about my prospects." Sam thought briefly of Orlin, but decided that she didn't want to go back down that road. She'd grown and changed a lot since being with him.

Plus, there was that whole hanging out with the Goa'uld thing.
