Second Floor Common Room, Tuesday Night, Oregon Statehood Day

Trying to ignore everyone coupling off all over the damn school, Sam turned on the Aaron Echolls film festival and prepared to lose herself in the movies. She had a large bowl of popcorn and bottle of diet coke and settled into one of the chairs.

Of course, she was immensely interruptable.

Alanna shrugged. "Not much. He's the only biological relative I have left. For better or worse." Teddy got slammed into a wall. Faithful looked waaay too happy with this new development. "Damn it." Teddy went flying back to her, knocking a lamp over in the process.

Faithful snarled at Teddy and Alanna quickly grabbed him, the bear, out of harms way. "Yeah, missed by a bit." Alanna waved the lamp back to its spot. She tossed Teddy into the air in a more normal way. "Who's brilliant idea was it to create a holiday for people in love?"

"The people who sell the cards," Logan said. "And the people who sell candy, and jewelry - I think they all just banded together one day and created Valentine's Day to boost sales."

"Oh, that make sense." Alanna glanced down at Teddy. "Except Teddy is cute." Faithful snarled. "Faithful, down. Wait, but what about the killing of a lot of people on Valentine's Day? Where does that come in?" Alanna's brows snapped in a frown.

"Some people have a twisted sense of humor," Logan said. He watched the TV as Lynn and Aaron Echolls got into one of those cute movie arguments that everyone knows ends with the stars kissing. "I've got homework," he said, standing up abruptly. "Later." He left the common room and went back to 228.
