Gym-Wednesday Evening

Pip pounds on the bag and tries not to think about the math test and how he did on it. He's also trying to ignore the neck pain which tends to come from sleeping on the couch in a weird position.


Paige would be stopping by soon.

"So this would be the one I need for the really tall attackers right?" she jokes then does as he's just shown.

"This seems kinda like the worse one, I mean it's slow and you have to be really close to use it," she frowns.

"Yeah," Pip said. "But if you do it right, it's a killer. Check this out. Make a fist and fit it into the space between your ribs."

"Maybe on humans" she points out

Then does it giving him a funny look, "and?"

"Fits pretty good, right? That's your solar plexus. You hit someone there, you'll hit their diaphragm and knock all the air out of their lungs. Now, against demons, I don't know what kind of good that will do. But against humans, well... that's usually end of the fight there. Hard to do anything with all the air knocked out of your lungs."

She smiles, "well some of them look human, so I guess we can hope they have the same anatomy right?" she says optimistically.

"That's the idea I'm aiming for. Now, let's try those punches out on a live target. Grab some gloves and come over to the mat."

"You want me to hit you?" she asked as she pulled on the gloves.

"Try to hit me," Pip said, puling on a pair of gloves of his own. "I intend on blocking and dodging."

She nods, and smiles and looks at him for a moment before deciding on which punch to try. She figures quickly jabbing means in theory she'll get at least one punch in while he's blocking the others so that's what she does. Trys to punch him several times in rapid succession.

Pip blocks and dodges to the side. "Good, good. But don't count on being able to throw a lot of those so quickly. Most fights, people would be hitting back. Mix it up a bit. That's the most important part. Predictabillity is the number one killer in fights."

Paige face palms, "I'm kinda hoping most demons are gonna be really stupid to be honest with you," she replies frowning, "but yeah I'll remember that, so shall we try again?"

"Well, generally you hope your opponent is stupid, but it's pretty dangerous to assume that," Pip said. He raised his hands. "Let's try again."

Paige tries to think up a good combination of hits that might actually involve a punch landing.

She starts with some jabs, hoping he won't be expecting them since she's just used those, then goes for a vertical punch and a normal one cos the mun is brain dead and forgets the name before finally kicking him, hoping that will take him by suprised. If she managed this is likely to be looking pretty happy about now.

Pip blocks most of them but is suprised by the kick and barely dodges in time, almost falling over before he manages to catch himself. "Should've expected that. Very good. Not great form on the kick, but very good on suprise."

Paige smiles, "still at least I'm learning something right?"

Pip nodded. "Yep. And suprise is very important." He glanced at his watch. "Want to learn about kicks a little or should we call it a day?"

"Hmmm call it a day I guess, start with kicking next week?" she suggests, "I've got rid of most of my anger so I should probably wiat til I'm back in the zone."
