"I missed you," he says again. Still sad-puppy-facing.

She might lean in to kiss him. "Better?"

"Better," says Archie, now smiling instead of sad-puppy-facing. "No more disappearing into a void without telling me first," he adds.

"I'll be sure to drop you a note," she promises.

"Oh, good," he teases, hugging her legs in a weird, awkward sort of way. "Advance warning might be good, too."

"What if," she says, "I get sucked into a void suddenly?"

"That's a different story." Archie nods solemnly. "But I would be very sad."

"Good," she says. "Well, not good. But."

"You wouldn't want me to be sad," says Archie, sad-puppy-facing a little more. "Would you?"

"Nope. We're going for Happy!Archie here."

"Are we?" Archie winks at her. "How happy?"

Jaye grins. "How happy do you wanna be?"

"Happiness is the sort of thing I tend to not set upper limits on," says Archie, in a completely neutral tone.

Or what he thinks is one, anyway.

"I'm quivering in my boots," Archie tells her, looking up and giving her a bright smile.
