Fifth floor common room, Saturday night

Nadia had spent most of the afternoon after auditioning crashed out on her own bed, and as a result was feeling much, much better than she had this morning.

She thought the oversized sunglasses were fun, so she was still wearing them, while strumming absently on her guitar and staring off into space.

She was looking forward to a quiet evening.

"Much better now that I am not hung over. I didn't see you at the dance,"

"I didn't go." Blair shrugged. "I'm glad you went though, did you have fun?"

"Right up until the point that Pippi and I went hunting for chinchillas, yes." Nadia set her guitar aside. "So. What's up?"

"Chinchillas?"

"I-uh-um...I'm sorry for the dating stuff Nadia. I never set out to hurt you and I didn't realize that what I was doing was hurtful. I'm so sorry that you got caught up in my mistakes."

Nadia swung her feet down onto the floor and leaned her elbows on her knees. She puffed out a breath and sat for a moment in silence.

"I guess I can kind of understand. I mean, if you don't know the rules for dating, then you have to find out some way. Most people just ask someone, but you're different. I get that.

"That being said. . . . It could have been worse. The experiment could have gone on longer without me or Molly knowing, which would have just meant it would have hurt more when we eventually did. What you did was kind of dumb, but it's not the end of the world. I'm not that hurt. I like you, but I didn't exaclty fall in love with you after two dates."

She titled her head. "Have you made any decisions?"

Blair nodded slowly and decided that Nadia was way more mature then him.

"I thought about it and meditated a long time and I really feel like I'm supposed to be dating Molly." Blair took a deep breath and looked at Nadia. "I like you a lot Nadia, and I had a lot of fun with you this week. I'd really like to stay friends and even hang out and people watch sometime."

Nadia smiled slightly.

Was she hurt? Well. Yes, of course she was hurt.

Was she devestated? Well. No.

"Okay. I don't know Molly that well, but she's a sweet girl. And of course I'll stay friends with you. That's what I said, isn't it?"

She doesn't notice that her hands are clenching on her knees, because she's totally okay, so there'd be no reason for her to notice.

No reason at all.

Blair nodded a little dumbly and blushed. "Yeah, she's nice."

"I'm glad we can be friends. So we're okay, right?"

Nadia nodded. "Of course. And if you have any questions about how dating is supposed to work, you can ask me. At least ask someone, anyway."

Blair nodded and clutched his pot closer. "Man, after this week I'm not taking any chances. You and Molly have a lot of friends."

Nadia nodded, smiling, even as her fingers clenched a bit harder. "I know you and Molly will have fun together."

Her jaw hurts a little. Huh.

Blair smiled and bounced up. "I'm really glad we talked! I'm whipped man, so I'll talk to you later, okay?"

"Kay!" Nadia waved and picked her guitar back up, still smiling exactly the same way she had before.

She wasn't sure exactly when she'd started swallowing rocks, but there was definitely one in her chest right now.

Blair smiled and waved and headed off back downstairs thinking that this went well and now everyone was happy...because for an observer, he's clueless sometimes.

Nadia kept waving until Blair was out of sight. Her jaw was really starting to hurt. She picked up her guitar and started tuning it. She twisted a knob. She plucked a string.

She twisted the knob again. She plucked the string.

Twist, pluck, twist, pluck, twist, pluck, twi-*snap!*

The E string broke.

She was totally okay though. She was just going to go to bed. She was tired.

After sleeping all day.
