4th Floor Common Room - Sunday late morning

Allie is in the common room, baking muffins for anyone who happens to stop by.

She's got blueberry, apple cinnamon and banana nut. There's also coffee.

Allie nodded. "Yeah, I was awake and caught up on my homework," she said. "I'm Allie, by the way. I don't think we've met, but didn't I see you at the play auditions yesterday?"

Blair stuck out his hand, stared at the crumbs on it and retracted it, wiping vigorously on his jeans. "I'm Blair Sandburg." He held out his now clean and grinned. "Yeah? It was really fun! Did you audition too? Are you excited?"

She shook his hand and smiled. "Yeah, I'm not sure why, but I did. I guess my mun I decided that I needed to get more involved," she said with a shrug.

Blair pulled up a chair and sat down. "Do you like acting? Have you ever done it before? I'm excited about seeing if an theater subculture will assert itself during the production." He tilted his head and stared at her. "You'll look nice in all black with a beret, I think."

"I've never acted before," she admitted. "But I like Shakespeare, so I figured it might be fun. And I don't think I'm really the dressing in all black type, but thanks. Have you ever acted before?"

"Nope, no acting. Well, unless you count lying to the chief about just who let the goats out before the harvest sacrifice." Blair grinned and bounced. "So if you're not the wearing-black-drama-cat type of person, what do you like to do?"

"Harvest sacrifice?" she asked, blinking.

She considered Blair's question. "I like science, I guess," she said. "I want to go to medical school some day. What about you?"

"To ensure that the gods will provide good weather and strong arms to bring in the crops. I'm not sure why they need goats to do that, so I let them go. I was only 8 at the time, so the chief just told us to leave instead of having me flogged."

"Medical school? That's awesome! I'm interested in anthropology."

"Where are you from?" Allie asked.

"And anthropology, that's like, studying where stuff came from kind of, right?"

"From all over pretty much. My mom's a hippie so we traveled all the time." Blair bounced and waved his hands. "Sorta. It's the study of man and culture and how everything fits together. It's like the best field of study ever!"

"Well...I mean...medicine is really cool too."

"Yeah, I think so. My dad's a doctor, so I kind of grew up around medicine. Traveling all the time sounds really neat though," she said, a touch of jealousy creeping in her voice. "I haven't been very many places. I'm from New Jersey."

"So it's like the family business? That's really awesome. Do you get a lot of support from your dad?"

"New Jersey? I don't think I've ever been there! Is it nice?"

"My dad has definitely encouraged my interest in science," she said with a fond smile. "And New Jersey is okay, I guess. I don't have much in the way of comparision, aside from here. And, well, I can guarantee that we don't have anything like snow monsters or demons there."

Blair grinned. "No kidding. I've lived all over and never seen as many weird things as I have in a month here at Fandom!"

"Well I don't feel so bad then about being all freaked out about the weird stuff that goes on here. Some of the people seem like they can just take it in stride, you know?"

"You really shouldn't. I think we all bring something to this school and those of us who don't see this sort of thing on a everyday basis sorta balance the weirdness out!"

"I agree," she said with a nod. "But sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who isn't used to the weirdness. It's nice to meet someone else who isn't."

Blair stood up and held out his hand again. "Okay, I think we should make a pact to have a Normalcy Reblancing Group. The next time snow monster zombies from the 5th galaxy of Xxplecia come to feast on us, after everything is all over and done with...we should come hang out and freak out over the weirdness in order to move on."

Allie shook his hand firmly. "Deal. Most definitely," she said with a grin.

Blair grinned and pointed to a nearby blueberry muffin. "We may have to include muffins in our rebalancing, you know. This are great!"

She blushed. "I'm glad you're enjoying them." She looked over the large supply of muffins. "Take some with you, okay? I made way too many."

"Really?" Blair grinned and bounced. "Are you going on the trip to DC tomorrow?"

"Yes, really. And no, I'm not. I have a chemistry test to study for."

Blair made a face. "Ick. Chemistry. But you know..good luck on that."

"That stinks, but maybe you can hand muffins out tomorrow. Like a...a...muffin fairy!"

She grinned. "Yeah, maybe. Are you going into DC? Have you ever been?"
