"I like books, but I have the feeling asking you to part with a book would be like asking you to voluntarily pull one of your teeth out," Bridge says with a smile.

Rory looked at her bags, and thought of the books beind shipped.

"It would be like Sophie's Choice," she said sadly. "So yeah. Dinosaur. But you can totally treat me like your personal library, if you ever want to borrow stuff."

"Dinosaurs are great," Bridge says seriously. "And I will totally take you up on that."

"Yay! So. What have you been up to today?" Rory asked, smiling and tilting her head.

"I made a clock!" Bridge says. He may seem oddly proud of this accomplishment.

"A clock?" Rory asked. "Digital or analog?"

"Very, very digital." Bridge says, taking a spherical object out of his pocket. He presses the on-switch, and the thing flies into the air, projecting a hologram of Earth.

"Ooooooooooooh," Rory said, staring. "That is...so cool."

"It can look up any timezone on Earth, and um, a lot of other planets too. Whatever was in the chip that I installed when I built it, I guess."

"Other planets?" Rory asked curiously. "Like Jupiter? Or from another galaxy?"

"Oh, like... anywhere in this galaxy or others, yeah." Bridge nods, and presses the button-combination for Bookala. "That's the 4th district on Bookala, for example," he says, pointing to the highlighted section of the planet that replaced the image of Earth.

"Where's Bookala?" Rory asked, tilting her head.

"About ten thousand light-years from Earth, I think." Bridge says.

"Have you been there?"

Bridge thinks for a minute, reviewing a mental list.

"Nope!" he says finally.

"So how come you have the time for it?" Rory asked. "I mean, do you plan on going there anytime soon? Don't forget what I said about clinging to your leg."

"I... it was on the datachip that I put in the clock-thing." Bridge said. "I don't *think* I'd have to go there anytime. It's not a very interesting planet." Bridge explains. "I might spend the summer on Xybria, in the capital, though."

"Huh. Why?" Rory asked. Because she's evidently playing Spanish Inquisition now.

"There's a lot of stuff I could learn there, about, like, stuff," he does a vague handwave.

Rory raised an eyebrow. "You said it's boring."

"No, I said Bookala is boring. Xybria would be cool." Bridge corrects.

"Ah," Rory said. "I misreadheard. Hmm. Does the clock have a time for Xybria?"

"Probably!" Bridge chirped. He pressed a few buttons, and a hologram of a very green planet appeared, a timezone highlighted. "That's the capital city right there," he says, pointing vaguely. "It's apparently just past the 30th hour there now."
