"In a different universe, my parents were spies. Not as far as I know. And if there were any ninjas, they probably would have tried to beat me up. It's a nasty habit that ninjas have," Peter said. "Stupid ninjas."

"Ninjas are cool. I hung out with one all of yesterday and she didn't killinate me," Rory noted.

"The black-and-white one in town, or do we have another around here somewhere?" Peter asked.

"We used to have another, who lived with Anakin. But she's gone now," Rory said.

"Yeah, the one in town tried to kill me. Ruined my favorite hoodie. Dammit," Peter said. "And then she gave me a marshmallow."

"Yeah, she was quiet yesterday." Rory shuddered and mumbled something that may have sounded like 'semen couch.'

"She's always quiet. Ninja. And what was that?" Peter asked.

"I went to a movie thing at the brothel," Rory frowned. "Crazy Hooker was all 'Ooh, there's probably semen on the couch,' so Jaye and Anakin and Angela were like 'Ew, gross.'"

"Um." There was no good way to ask this, really, so he just asked it. "What kind of movies did you watch on the couch with semen all over it?"

Rory scowled. "Perish Difficultly and Princess Bride. And Jaye totally got extra icky on me on purpose."

"Hey, it was a fair question," Peter said as a defense. "And of course Jaye did that. Jaye's strange."

"She kind of is. But usually in a fun way. Though she has this...fixation on me and Bridge that's a little unsettling," Rory replied.

Peter grinned. "What kind of fixation?" He was a little worried about the thought that he and Jaye might have something in common.

"Oh, she thinks I like Bridge, or that we're dating in secret, or something. Which is really, really not true," Rory said, rolling her eyes.

"Yeah, the dating in secret thing is kind of insane. Why would you even do that?" Peter asked.

Strangely enough, he didn't mention anything about the theory that Rory liked Bridge.

Rory suddenly looked more shifty.

"Yeah, um. That's dumb," she replied. "I mean, I'm all about the open relationships."

She totally did not look at Anakin.

Not even when he started talking to her.

"Um. I - " she gestured helplessly towards Anakin, smiling at Peter. "Talk to you later?"

This only made Peter more curious, but he didn't want to push. "Talk to you later. Thanks for the dinosaur."

Peter had officially decided that Rory was a very strange girl.
