Second floor common room, Tuesday evening

There's nothing to do, so Jaye wanders to the second floor, kicks her feet up on the coffee table, and waits for someone to entertain her.

And someone had better entertain her. Preferrably with antics.

Jaye coughs. "I might have suggested jazz hands to Faux Principal Dewey," she admits.

Parker snorted. "If all the fairies jazz hands--" She does so in Jaye's direction, very Fosse, "--and flee the stage, I'll know to thank you. Otherwise? I'm getting you for that, and the whole 'dating Isabel' thing from last night. Free press my ass."

"I didn't say you were dating Isabel, I said you and Isabel made a date, which is what my notes said," she protests.

"You're just lucky no one's asked me about that. Jeez. And what was up with the couch? I missed whatever silliness you guys were doing, since I was actually watching the movie."

"I think Rory said someone had probably had sex on the couch, and I was sitting on my hands, so I gave her the semen germs in a surprisingly non-dirty fashion."

"You two are *odd*." Never mind that she'd had the same reaction, the first time she was in Jarod's room. Then again, she'd redecorated it since then. "Although at least I can track that conversation now, in retrospect. And there was no ass-slapping yesterday of Cam! I just kicked his ass. Totally different."

"It was in my notes!" she says. "So you can kick his ass, I'll slap it. Okay."

Parker tilted her head, then conceded. "Okay, that's fair. Who the hell *writes* those notes, anyway? Because even though I'm not Rory, I gotta say 'dirty' is the only word that comes to mind."

"Can't reveal our sources," she says, "but yeah. Seriously dirty. And sometimes, I even clean up the phrasing."

"I know John and Lee aren't even trying, but that's impressive, if true." Parker shook her head. "Tell your sources to quit talking about Jarod. Or the next time I find them, they might get permanently disconnected."

"Hey, I'd beat on them, too," she says. "Jarod's cool."

Parker brightened. "He is, isn't he? For a big dork." She rolled her eyes but didn't lose the smile. "If you two do rob a bank? I'm so not bailing you out."

"That's fine, that's why I have parents," Jaye grins.

Parker snickered. "Heh. And your co-conspirator would probably stage a break-out. I'll be sure to record the newsbreaks about you two." She folded her arms. "And give them to the Radio!"

"Send the mugshots to my parents, too, huh?" Jaye says agreeably.

Parker starts laughing helplessly. It is really, really hard to hate Jaye some days. Lucky for her, this is one of them.

"They'd look good on the mantel!" Jaye insists, giggling.
