Second floor common room, Tuesday evening

There's nothing to do, so Jaye wanders to the second floor, kicks her feet up on the coffee table, and waits for someone to entertain her.

And someone had better entertain her. Preferrably with antics.

"I got cast as Titania in the school play. Remind me to kill Rory the next time I see her," Parker growled. "Seriously, I read from Antigone! How the hell did I get cast in a comedy from that?"

"The school has a bizarre sense of humor?" Angela suggested. "But Titania's a cool part. I mean, could be worse, you could be Snout or something."

"Who's Bottom?"

"True. In which case, I'd just be ill for the next month." Parker rolled her eyes, and smirked a little. "Xander Harris. That'll be a trip."

"Xander's funny," Angela said appreciatively. "So -- good choice."

"I know you kind of hate the idea, but I can see you as Titania, somehow."

"I'm just thinking that he's one of the guys I haven't kissed yet, so this'll either be really awkward, or that's going to change by the first performance. I'm not kissing the ass's head before I kiss the guy wearing it."

"Yeah?" Parker tilted her head, and sighed. "Mostly I just hate the ending. Titania gets pawned. It *sucks.*"

A funny expression crossed Angela's face. "I think he'd put up with that," is all she said,though she might have said something if Xander hadn't been right there.

"And yeah, the ending is lame. Maybe Rory'll change it if you ask, or bribe her with coffee."

Parker smirked. "Well, it's either him, or Lee Adama. And as much fun as that would be, Thrace would kill me." Her smile turned evil. "He's willing to be shirtless. Woo!"

"Coffee, chocolate, god, anything. ALL the women in that play end up looking dumb. A lot of the guys do too, but it's still irritating." She sighed. "My biggest consolation is that Zero's Puck, and that ought to be even more fun than Xander as Nick Bottom."

Angela's eyes lit up. "Zero will be a brilliant Puck. Even if she does end up giving half his speeches in Zeroese. "I am that squalling wanderer of the night," or something."

Parker started chortling. "Okay, that might make this whole thing worth it. That, and watching her sneak up on Oberon." She looked speculative. "I wonder if we can get him in a kilt?"

"That's another thing to bribe Rory for," Angela said. "Put all the male cast members in either kilts or leather pants."

Parker zoned. "Okay. Happy place." She sighed. "Mmm." She snapped out of it after a second. "But not me, damnit! That stuff could be really uncomfortable under stage lights."

Angela tilted her head to one side. "No, not the girls in leather. Girls in..." she thought for a minute. "I don't know. Silky nightgowns? Not all that revealing, but sexy?"

Parker thought about it, then admitted, "That would be okay. Fairy-like, I guess. And at least not likely to broil you on-stage." She grinned. "If the guys are shirtless, they won't mind about the pants. Really." She made a face. "Coffee for Rory. Shoes for Cordelia. And really good bribes for the costumers. If I have to act stupid, at least I don't have to *look* stupid."

"That's the spirit," Angela said amiably. "I'm sure the costumes will be .... well, better than they were for Christmas, anyhow."

She yawned. "I think it's my bedtime. See you in the library tomorrow."
