Second floor common room, Tuesday evening

There's nothing to do, so Jaye wanders to the second floor, kicks her feet up on the coffee table, and waits for someone to entertain her.

And someone had better entertain her. Preferrably with antics.

"Yeah," Angela nodded. "There's a whole long scene on a ship. And there's swordfighting, but it's on dry land."

"Best place for it, if it's done for dramatic purposes." Archie nodded, his expression that of someone who knew a bit more about the subject than he typically let on. "Fighting on board a ship can be quite the physical challenge, but it's ungainly, and not terribly aesthetic, what with all the rolling and pitching."

Angela thought about this for a second. "That would probably be true," she said,. "I mean, sometimes in movies people jump on the mast and stuff, but I'm guessing that doesn't work so well in real life."

"It's not advisable under most conditions. Now I think I should be watching more films with ships in them, for the entertainment value." He grinned. "And complain about all the unrealistic things."

Angela snorted. "I'm sure there are, like, a zillion in most films. Though "Princess Bride" isn't really a documentary."

"Well, I'm not an expert in most of the things one sees in movies, anyhow. In fact, I'm not even an expert on movies in general." Archie shrugged. "But enough about that -- how are you these days? You and Marty?"

"The guy from 18-whatever isn't an expert on movies?" Angela asked in mock-shock. "You're ahead of Parker's little brother, anyhow. It took him a month to find out what a light switch was."

"And we're good. Things are ... yeah. Good."

"I still can't use the phone," he said ruefully, "and yet somehow I manage to do a radio broadcast once a week. My knowledge of modern technology has some truly ridiculous holes in it."

He smiled at her, genuinely pleased. "I'm glad to hear it. You two are, from all I can tell, good together."
