2nd Floor Common Room, Afternoon into Evening

Vala has no classes today, but hanging out in the room alone is just too depressing. And she could hear Cam in the TA lounge when she swung by. Plus at lunch she stopped by Dewey's office and found out she somehow got cast in the damned school play. As if her Crissmass solo wasn't enough.

Not having managed to run into Rory, Cordelia, or Jake yet today, she's given up and flopped down on the common room couch to watch Classic Galaxy Quest reruns while she waits for the new ep of Spooky Things to come on.

Come. Feed her. Entertain her. Get snarked at by her. It's a crapshoot, really....

Jake comes shuffling in, looking bored and clinging to his mug of coffee like it's a lifeline even more than usual. He brightens when he sees the tv. "Galaxy Quest! I'm not late for Spooky Things, am I?" he asks, worriedly, as he drops down in the avaliable seat on the couch.

Wait. Coffee mug attached like extra limb. Vague memories of girlishness....

Jake nodded, eyes glued to the screen. If he was very lucky, this would be one of the episodes where Lt. Madison was confused by watery showers. "Yeah, that's me." He glanced quickly over at the girl. "Oh, you're... NotAeryn. Sorry, I forget your name."

"Vala." Her voice is taking on a decidedly unfriendly tone. "And what exactly, may I ask, did I ever do to you?"

Having decided that it wasn't one of the watery episodes, Jake turned his head from the tv to give her a blank look. "Nothing, as far as I know. Why?"

"Well, see I just found out I've got a part in the school play. Only the funny thing is, I know I didn't audition for it, because I wasn't even in this galaxy town last weekend.

"Then I hear you did the same thing to Callisto and Xander. So what is this? Some twisted new hobby of yours? And why me if you can't even remember my name?"

"I didn't do it," Jake protested. He was sure he would have remembered turning into Vala. He sipped his coffee for strenght. "I mean, yeah, I did land Cal and Xander in the play, but they deserved it! ...Wait, if I didn't do it, who did?"

"Who else could have? Aren't you the only shape-shifter type we've got around here?" Her eyes narrowed. "Or are you denying it just because I can kick your ass... and if so, why go after Callisto? Do you have a death wish or something?"

"Did Cam put you up to this?"

Vala was thinking. If nothing else Jake didn't look scared enough to be guilty. "So who did it then?"
