Gym, morning before classes

Cameron's in the gym. The black and white gym. To him anyway. It's a good thing that sweats and USAF shirts are neutral colours. His socks however are a different matter. One blue, one red.

"Oh so you're not in some program with them already?" Marty asked in a somewhat suspicious tone. "Somehow I thought you were already affiliated with them."

"What? No?" Cameron shook his head and wondered if Marty heard about the Camulus thing. "I'm actually just working on the questionnaire to sign up so I can get it in next month."

"Huh. You have any family in the Air Force? Maybe stationed out in the Colorado Springs area?" Marty said with a grunt as he started another set of repetitions.

He paused and looked Marty more fully. "No, my family's in Memphis. My dad's a testpilot for the USAF. Was anyway."

Marty winced a little. "Sorry to hear that. What happened to him? If you you don't mind me asking."

Cameron shrugged, trying to keep his tone light which really didn't work well with what he had to say. "Don't mind. He got in a crash a couple of weeks ago, lost his legs."

"Definitely not missing in action," Marty thought to himself as he moved over to start doing arm curls.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Marty said with a sympathetic wince. "Didn't mean to pry. I've just noticed that there are a lot of students here who seem to be interested in joining the Air Force when they graduate."

"Yeah, there's a few." Cameron nodded. Of course most of those that he knew were actually already in the Air Force. "It's kinda refreshing, most of my friends thought I was crazy for wanting to join up."

Marty looked over at Izzy and decided that this probably wasn't the place for a confrontation.

Izzy wasn't here for Parents Weekend though.

"So did you know 'Uncle George' before you came here?" Marty asked. "I met him briefly over Parents Weekend. Seems to be an interesting guy."

"George Hammond? Jack and Janet's 'Uncle'." Marty said probably putting a little more emphasis than he needed on it. "Interesting guy. General in the Air Force. Did a little reading on him and that little project he did for the Air force."

Marty put down his weights. "Something about 'Deep Space Radar Telemetry'?"

"Ah, I don't think I met him." Cameron replied quickly. He hadn't, but by Marty's tone and his own knowledge of Janet was enough to make him put two and two together. "I just talked to John's dad and that blue dog thing that thought Crichton and I were some sort of clones."

"You're rooming with Kawalksy now, right?" Marty asked as he started to some elevated crunches. "You two should come down to my room this afternoon and hear what I heard about 'Uncle George'. I'm sure both of you would be very interested to hear what I found out."

When Marty finished with his crunches he started to the door. "I'll see you in ACJ."
