Xander lowers the pillow.

Shriek.

"CLOWN!"

The station changes almost immediately back to the male stripper - except the cowboy is leaving the stage.

Not that that's not a pretty view.

Xander forgets to hide behind the pillow again, in his relief at the lack of scary freakyness. Except the naked kind.

"Um. Clown issues."

"No kidding." Parker leaned in to whisper in his ear, "So very nearly busted."

"Clowns bad. Like, did you ever see that movie, Playful Spirit? That one scene with the clown doll scared me so bad. And also? That. Scariest. Clown-thingy. Ever," Rory babbled, staring at the screen. "How come it changed right then? How convenient...."

It was then that she noticed the remote sitting a good four feet away from all of them.

"Okay...do we have any psychics or something? Other than Bridgey, I mean, since I don't think he's paying attention. And I'm pretty sure he can't do this."

"I'm paying attention!" Bridge said. "But I'm not doing that. I'm too busy trying to make sure Vladdie doesn't get stuck to me again."

"Are you sick of playing with him?" Rory asked apologetically. "I can take him, if you'd like. 'Course, that'd mean putting my leg back on...."

"Aw, no, he's fine," Bridge says, scritching Vladdie between the ears. "I just don't want him to get stuck to me again. He was sort of mad when he fell off last time."

"He was mad? Poor thing. Hey, Vladdiekins, you know Bridgey would never drop you on purpose, right?"

Vladdie looked at her, looked at Bridge, and yipped.

/Accident, MommyRory. Duh. Friend said sorry. All better./

"I think he's okay now," Bridge says seriously.

"Good, since I can't deal with an emopuppy right now," Rory sighed. "Not when I've quite possibly got an emoturtle. I dunno. Hard to tell with them."

"Yeah, turtles can be like that."

Xander considers whether hiding behind the pillow again would draw attention to him, or cloak the suspicious look he's pretty sure is covering his face no matter how innocent he tries to play it.

Hide? Don't hide. Hide? Don't hide.

HIDE.

Rory frowned. "Xander, the clown went away. Though there's still the dirty." She turned to the girls. "Are you guys doing it? Because seriously, lighten up on the porn for his sake if no one else's."

Parker just can't take it any more. The laughing is more helpless than mean, really.

"Parker! Be nice! How are you doing it?" Rory said, half scolding, half curious. "Because it's not nice to be mean to Xander. You're going to traumatize him like this."

"You think so? Xander, are you traumatized?" The giggling is just constant now, for so many reasons.

"Yes!" from behind the pillow.

Followed, after a momentary silence, by giggling that's even louder than Parker's.

"Totally--" *snortchoke* "--traumatized!"

"Oh, I can tell." Bridge says, deadpan.

Rory blinked.

"I don't get - wait. Wait, Xander?" she said, the lightbulb FINALLY switching on. "You - how? And why the hot cowboys? Oh! Oh, to be nice to us? That is so incredibly thoughtful."

Parker collapsed over the couch, laughing so hard it hurt. "You're a prince, Xander-- you are! Heheheh...."

"If he's responsible for that guy in the chaps, he's a king. No - an emperor," Rory said seriously.

Xander stops snickering for long enough to answer in a very serious voice - because if he's going to pull his ass mostly out of the fire on this, he's gonna have to do it fast - "Precisely. I am a thoughtful, thoughtful man. And was in no way trying to mess with you people. At all."

"Heeee," Parker said on an indrawn breath. "Ohhhhh, yeah. You big telekinetic sadist. That clown was *horrible*." She's not going to out him on his other thoughts. Although she's glad she knew what to say to get that cowboy. Woo. Hoo.
