The Lobby, Saturday evening

Isabel took a walk through the dorms, hanging up posters to be posted later advertising the Baltimore trip. As she passed through the lobby, she stopped and studied the alien fish Jaye had told her about.

Feeling a bit foolish, she leaned down close to the tank and quietly asked, "I don't suppose you've heard about a planet called Antar, have you?"

Coming back from detention, Peter wandered into the lobby and saw Isabel staring at the fish. "Hey there," he said leaning in to check out the fish himself. "They doing anything interesting?"

"Nah. Really, who doesn't know an alien, right?" Peter joked. And, yes, that joke worked on a couple levels depending on how much you know. Oh, yeah.

"I bet we actually have leprechauns running the bank or something," Peter said, shrugging.

"True."

"I'm looking at boredom and music appreciation until Wednesday. Then I'm going back home for a few days," Peter said. "How about you? Aside from the Baltimore trip, obviously."

"Come on. You're already going to have a road trip. Why not go all the way, stick with tradition and angst it up a bit. It'll be fun!" Peter claimed with enthusiasm.

"I'm sorry I won't be there to see that," Peter laughed. "And remember, there's no grounding here. Just detention. And even that's not too bad if today was any indication."

"Absolutely nothing as far as I can tell," Peter shrugged. "I wrote an essay about how I think Dean Zordon is just really bored and has nothing better to do but randomly assign detention."

For a moment, Peter pondered whether or not Zordon would feel at home with alien fish in his tube. It was a funny visual, even if he wasn't about to do anything with it.

"I think the lottery is beyond StuCo's control. Remember Principal Dewey? He didn't seem to have any idea what was going on with it but it was still going on," Peter said.

And looking at Isabel's icon, Peter wondered what was going on with girls not wearing clothes in public this week. Not that he was complaining, omg.

"Like I said, it actually wasn't that bad. Rory's mother holds an excellent detention," Peter said.

"Decorated tools, listened to music, named a baby, and watched The Breakfast Club. I've had much worse detentions," Peter admitted.

"She's Rory's mom," Peter said, expecting that to be explanation enough. "I think Gilmores are just a little odd in an entertaining way."

"Yes. Yes, you can say that," Peter joked.

"So Logan was behind that whole thing? Why?"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Normally, Peter would offer to help, but he still felt kind of bad that he accidentally helped Skeeter find out about Logan's story.

"I can't wait to see what you do. Should be interesting. Wait, paint balloon?"

Peter grinned in a somewhat doofy manner at the mention of Zero. "Ack. But, hey, at least a fun time was had before break."

"Just kind of got carried away with the free-for-all?" Peter asked.
