Fourth Floor Common Room, Late Afternoon

Now that she's gotten two good nights of sleep and has gotten off of the emotional rollercoaster she was on last week, things are starting to sink in. If she stops, she's going to have to think and she's just not ready to do that right now. So after Western Civilizations, she got supplies and set up shop in the fourth floor common room.

Anyone on the fourth floor (and given how much garlic she's using, anyone throughout most of the dorm) should smell the puttanesca sauce cooking. Come and eat.

Grab a knife and help.

There's fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, bruschetta and a collection of olives to snack on while you work.

"Isabel!" Janet smiled. She'd followed the smell of garlic all the way up to the fourth floor common room. "I hadn't heard you were back."

"Janet," Isabel said, faltering for only a second. "I got back Sunday night. I'm still trying to settle back in."

"Not even Roswell is as weird as this place?" she asked, giving Isabel a curious look when she hesitated briefly. "I'm glad you're back. Western Civ just wasn't the same."

Lana waved at Janet, "Hey, how's it going? I haven't seen you in a while."

"I've been trying to recover from all the craziness," said Janet. "Which has led to me spending many hours in my room. How are you doing?"

"Roswell is in a class of weird all of it's own," Isabel looked down and laughed somewhat bitterly. "It was definitely weird to go home."

She made a determined effort to smile when she looked up at Janet again. "Xander called me and told me that you were able to pull together a way to save Angel. I saw him yesterday, he looks much better then he was the last time I saw him."

"Are you okay?" asked Janet. She grinned wryly. "I did some of the work. A lot of other people helped too. But yeah, I managed to whip it all into a final concotion. He's been slowly building up his strength since then."

Lana comes in looking tired and red-eyed. "Hey Isabel," she said quietly. "I smelled the food. I haven't eaten in, I don't know how long, but this actually smells good to me."

"Hi Lana," Isabel said. She put some mozzarella and cheese on a plate and pushed it across to Lana. "Here then, eat."

Lana smiled at her and took the plate, picking at the mozzerella and actually eating some of it. "I'm glad you're back," she said. "How are you doing?"

"Okay, I guess. I'm just trying to get settled back in mostly, catch up on my classes." She shrugged, "Fortunately most of my teachers have been pretty understanding."

"Yeah, so much crazy stuff happens I guess they kind of have to be. If there's anything I can do to help you catch up or whatever just let me know. I'd be glad to have the distraction," Lana says with a fairly pitiful attempt at a smile.

"Food!" Broots simply followed his nose. "Um, need any help?"

"How are you at fixing salad?" Isabel asked. "Not that there's much to do, it's a cesear salad and I'm using dressing from a bottle. So really, can you tear lettuce?"

"Sure. I can chop stuff too if you need that."

"Really?" She pushed a head of garlic towards him. "In that case, can you peel and chop this? I've got the olives covered. And then that's all the cutting and chopping that's needed for the sauce," she explained. "After that it's just a matter of dumping stuff into the pot and letting it simmer for a bit."

"By the way, have we met before? I know I've seen you around but I forget if we were ever introduced. I'm Isabel Evans."

"JC Broots. I usually go just by Broots though." Broots got to work on the garlic. "Mum uses me a lot at home to chop, peal, and do other stuff that are not actually cooking, so I got a lot of experience."

There's pasta with sauce and a tasty ciabatta bread with olive oil for dipping.

Weird how Cameron just ends up wandering into the common room when there's food being served. "Yo!"

She nodded, an unhappy look crossing her face briefly. "It has. I had to go back to Roswell for a while. I just got back on Sunday night."
