The Gym, Saturdary morning

After not making it to the gym all week, Isabel headed down for a workout after she woke up Saturday morning. After stretching out, she pulled on some gloves and approached the bag for the first time since coming back from Roswell. She's a bit out of practice but after a while she settled into a steady rhythym of punches and the occasional kick. You can take your pick of which blonde she's picturing as she hits the bag.

Peter felt that it was about time he actually used FH's gym facilities, so he wandered down for a workout.

Also, Isabel was here and he needed to talk to her anyway! Convenience! He just might be talking very slowly for a while.

Isabel was surprised when Peter walked into the gym. "Did you get lost?"

"No, but I did get bored," Peter said. "I figured I might as well see a bit of the school that I've barely ever seen in its natural state."

She won't see John until after detention, so Aeryn heads down to the gym to work some things out. She gives a nod to Isabel when she sees her.

"Well here it is," Isabel said with a wave around the room that the magic elves had restored to order after Anakin and Angel's fight. "It's not usually this empty."

"Did you make it to the Student Council meeting? I got involved in something in town and couldn't make it back in time."

"Morning Aeryn," Isabel said as she stepped away from the bag. "It's all yours if you want it."

"Thanks," she says, pulling on her gloves and delivering a hard punch to the bag as a sort of hello to it. "How are you?"

"Busy,"she said. Isabel looked towards the trainer and decided that she wasn't in the mood today, instead, she crossed her legs and sank to the floor. "But that's okay. Otherwise things are going well," she added, thinking of her conversation with Xander and the art fun with Rory.

"Good," Aeryn says, looking back at her and then smacking into the bag again. "Glad to hear it."

She's been meaning to talk to Aeryn, and this is the first time she's seen her without a million people around. "There was another reason I asked you to teach me after Darla attacked Vala," she said. It was random but it seemed like a good place to start.

Another hit at the bag, and Aeryn steps away a little, because this feels like a Conversation. "Which was?" she asks.

"Apparently we're supposed to go back and save our planet. Do I look like a warrior to you?" Isabel asked.

"You don't have to be a warrior to save anything," she says. "It doesn't hurt, but that's not all there is to it."

"I hope you're right. Because there's only the four, the three of us." She tilted her head and looked at Aeryn, "You haven't heard of a planet called Antar have you?"

She thinks about it, trying to remember if she has. "Not that I can recall," she says. "Is that where you're from?"

She frowned when Aeryn said she didn't know Antar, not that she thought she would. It's just that things would have been simpler. Still, there was always Special Collections.

"My brother was king," she explained. "From what little we've learned, he, we were killed in battle. Our alien essence, was combined with human DNA and we were sent to earth. The idea was we'd learn to use our powers and then go back to save them. But the ship crashed and everything went to hell."

Aeryn listens, figuring that she probably would have heard something about this if Isabel was from anywhere near her. "Have you learned?" she asks.

Isabel shrugged, "I thought I'd learned everything I could do. But some stuff that's happened lately has made me think that I could learn to do more."

She held out her hand and her towel floated over to her hand from where she had left it on the bench. Once it was in her hand, Isabel concentrated and the color of the towel changed from blue to pink. "Moving and changing stuff like this is easy. But I've never tried to move anything large. Then when I was back in Roswell, someone got me mad and I wound up tossing him onto the floor without touching him. So obviously I still have more to learn."

"I did and I have my notes on it back in my room," Peter said. "Short version is that poker is next week, trivia is sometime after that - I'm thinking right after finals, personally - Prom is coming up and we could have homemade crowns if Pippi has her way," Peter said. "Which, really, if I just type that description up, I have my column for this week. And it'll use up a lot less ink than usual."

"I wouldn't mind being able to do that," she admits. "How do you learn? Do you just figure things out on your own?'

"I don't remember not knowing how to do stuff like this. I guess it was just part of how we were designed." She looked down, studying her shoes. "Other things, like dreamwalking... Well I found out I could do them by accident."

"And then it's up to you to hone it?" she says. She frowns at some of the phrasing and asks, "Dreamwalking?"

"Exactly. Anakin said he'd help me and even if he can't. Well, it's a lot easier to practice when you don't have to worry about hiding what you're doing," she smiled.

Isabel paused for a moment to figure out the best way to explain dreamwalking. "Dreamwalking is when I can visit someone's dreams. I can get into a person's head and see what their subconcious is thinking about. I won't do it to friends, but when you're wondering if the sheriff is thinking of turning you into the FBI, it's a good skill to have."

Alanna came into the gym and Faithful ran over to his usual favorite window.

Huh. Aeryn considers this, and asks slowly, "Would you do it with permission?"
