There's a table with coffee and baked goods from J,GOB set up and a hand lettered banner proclaiming "Good luck on Finals!" Alanna herself is curled up in a corner, scowling at the world while the TV is turned up to full volume to the cooking channel. Faithful is doubling as a pillow again.

Dorms [All Night]

John was going to be proposing in a week. And soon after that? Fandom was going to be one awesome memory. So, he wanted to go out with a bang. It'd been awhile since he'd done something like this and he knew exactly how to ask.

Charlie had agreed pretty quickly and, after finding bits and pieces of costuming, had emerged dressed as Mrs and Mrs Claus.

And they had a lot of shredded paper. White paper. C'mon, you know what that was getting used for.

"Oh, Mr. Claus? Should be spreading some early holiday cheer?" John asked in the highest, squeakiest voice he could manage.

[John and Charlie are going up and down the halls singing Christmas carols. Want them to sing one to you? Just ping in and they will! The best Christmas carols ever!]

"That was SO COOL," Lou said, bouncing ahead of Eddie and Charlie. "I got to shoot stuff and get messy and Thomas and Joanie were crazy! But good crazy! Can we go again?"

"Maybe later. Food first."

"I want pizza!" Eddie said.

"You *always* want pizza."

"So?"

"So you're gonna turn into a pizza face!"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"Guys!" Kawalsky cut them off. "Pizza's a sometimes food. We had it last night. We'll get a snack now and I'll cook something later for dinner, okay?"

"Okay!" they replied in unison.

"Good, then we can..." He trailed off when he saw who was walking in the other direction.

"Dad?" Eddie asked, frowning. "What is it?"

"It's okay," Kawalsky replied to him, then spoke to the newcomer to the group. "Hey Alanna."

[OOC: For [livejournal.com profile] threeweapons and then whoever else after that.]
[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com
Alanna had spent the day in her room, doing absolutely nothing. Now, she was in the common room, doing the same thing, only with television. She had a bowl of popcorn in front of her and was very interuptable. Faithful was using the television as a personal heater.
[identity profile] kawalsky.livejournal.com
Kawalsky headed to the common room in search of snack food. He'd exhausted his own supply and didn't really feel like walking down to town to pick up some more. The common room was much closer.

As he stepped across the door threshold, he tried to put his foot down on the floor and found he couldn't. He poked the air and it seemed fine, but when he stepped fully into the room, there was no gravity to be had.

With a frown, he grabbed the door frame and tried to push himself off, floating through the air.

Sadly, the snacks were going to be more difficult to reach than he'd expected.

[OOC: Gravity-free common room! Come and float!]

Marty had just came back from over the main land where he had picked up a ton of Thai food and beverages which he had set up buffet style in the kitchen.

As a complete contrast he had "The Contraltos" on the TV as he dug into a plate of spicy Phad Thai with some chicken satay on the side.

"Hopefully Joey Pant's character gets whacked soon," Marty muttered to himself as he bit into some shrimp.

[oh yeah. It's open]
[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com
Sphere of Flame, with Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck, was playing in the common room. Parker had appropriated all the pillows, a big bowl of popcorn, and about a liter of Diet Coke to help her in watching it.

[ooc: open]
[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com
"Ricky" led the way out of Room 220 and made his way to the common room. He had a performance tonight, after all, and he had to get set up.

"Where is the band?" he wondered. "Luuuucy?"

[OOC: Peter and Zero received an anniversary present of matching gremlin bites. How sweet. Their humiliation is open to all, of course.]
[identity profile] sonofdragons.livejournal.com
As Santa brushed crumbs from his fingers, he realized with growing panic that he had less than twelve hours to deliver presents. He walked quickly* towards the dorms and down to the basement, where he packed up his bag and slung it over his shoulder, ready to deliver gifts to the good boys and girls of Fandom.

*Santa never ran. It was undignified.

[ooc: Tannim thinks he's Santa. He's not wearing a costume, just walking around with a bag of "toys" and trying to get into all the rooms. If you want him to get into your room, please tag into the post with your room number and whether it's occupied when Santa arrives. You're also welcome to run into him in the hallways.

[ETA: It's afternoon when he's running around the dorms, but his delusional mind thinks it's later at night.]

Zero set up camp at a card table with a hand-lettered sign on the front:

EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE!
Sign this petition to show you want Alec to stay
Get a discount on admission to my new movie!

He does not have hairy toes!

It's not a bribe, it's an incentive.

Oh, yeah, she also had a basket of lollipops for petition-signers.
can_be_more: (it's still!aeryn)

Aeryn would love spring break if she had something to distract her from personal stuff. As it is, she doesn't, so she heads down to the gym to work some of it off.

She drops her water bottle off on the mat, and pulls the gloves on before she starts hitting the punching bag. On one hand, the big thing that she's been dealing with for four months is more or less over with, and all that's left now is adjusting to it. It's nothing she won't get over, it just takes some time to get used to the way things are now.

And on the other hand, there's still another mess she's still dealing with with John, so she figures it's better to work off some of the frustrated, confused stuff so she can focus on things like that. By wailing on a defenseless punching bag.

[Open like an open thing.]

While the weather had been snowy all day, the area near Bel's garden was free of snow tonight. The space around the roof held a touch of warmth and there was no wind to blow out the candles that flickered in the dusk.

A table by the door held candles for people to hold and a picture of Bel. Blair had found a fairly decent photo from the time in the cabins and while Bel wasn't exactly smiling into the camera, he wasn't glaring either.

[ooc: Invitations were handwaved so anyone's welcome. If you're not normally allowed in the dorms (teacher, townie, alumni) please keep your interaction limited to this post. Also, wait for OCD OCD Up! ]

Mel is settling down on the couch when she comes across "The Archivist: Fate of Spike" followed by "The Archivist 2: Return to King Goomba's Mine."

After stowing Jeremiah's tank and Xander's knapsack in 227, Bridge and Xander head off in search of spaghetti. Why didn't they just use the Synthetron? Well, spaghetti's like toast. It's more fun to make it yourself.

As luck would have it, the only Common Room kitchen currently stocked with any spaghetti noodles is the one on the fifth floor. So here they are. Making dinner.
[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com
Parker was talking as she entered the common room. "And this is the Second Floor Common Room, which is the best, of course. Anyone will tell you that. It got blown up once, but then it was fixed."

She flipped on the TV set and started looking for Smile Time or a monster movie.

And possibly other students to inflict wee tiny grown ups on.

[so very very open: Jarod & Rose in tow just for starters]
[identity profile] surferboy-09er.livejournal.com
Dick was flipping through the channels on the TV, trying to find something that wasn't a romantic comedy. In his head he was debating whether or not he should call his brother to tell him to pick up something for Madison for Valentine's Day. Right now he was leaning towards 'no'.

He also had one of those big heart-shaped chocolate boxes in his lap. He'd be willing to give away the coconut ones since they were nasty.

((Open, cause I'm bored.))
[identity profile] kawalsky.livejournal.com
The television had decided it had a mind of its own, or it was just glitchy. Every few minutes a new show would come on. First it was that crazy soap opera with the dummy/puppet boy, then it was Wormhole X-treme: Shangri-La, then Bitterwoman (of course).

Kawalsky was in the common room with a couple of pizzas, knowing that it was always wise to bring extra if you were going to eat in a public space.

[OOC: Pizzaaaaaaaaaaaa!]
[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com
Alec was having fun with the knitting thing - three dildo cozies and now he was working on a scarf in green and black. It didn't hurt that it was really just memorizing how to do the stitches and then letting his mind wander (or watch TV, like he was doing now) while it put itself together.

Plus, the yarn he was using was really fuzzy and soft.

[OOC: Open, as these things are.]
[personal profile] blessed_twice
Wyatt wandered out to the common room to attempt to fix some breakfast. Attempt. Someone hadn't inherited his mother's culinary skills, not one bit.

[ooc: I need distraction from the hell of my job, but pings may be slow from time to time as we get more info about frozen alstroemeria, non-red roses, and the fact that we've overloaded our receiving docks and the warehouse is paralyzed. Whee!]
[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com
Most people when attacked by a suddently sentient coffee table would probably not be laughing. Alanna, however, was. Of course, she was also standing on a sofa that was bouncing her a little and doing a little dance. The television was turned on to the Food Network.
[personal profile] blessed_twice
Hunting had been a good distraction for awhile, but when Wyatt returned to the second floor, he found himself dwelling again on what they were going to do about Belthazor. Having an uncle who was half-demon was bad enough. The Source of All Evil? That was right out.

He sighed and flopped on the couch. Maybe TV would be another distraction.

After finishing up his Anatomy class and grabbing some lunch, Neil decided to head up onto the roof with his radio. He didn't want to drive Conner nuts with the old time radio programs but was having a good time listening to them.

Finding a spot to perch up on the edge of the room, Neil turned on the radio and then hunkered down into his coat and looked out over the island. It really was a beautiful view from up here, the water reminding him of the big lake back at Welton. He wasn't exactly emo, so maybe it could be called the thoughtful roof today?

[ooc: Open...I mean, really you can't get much more open than a roof right?]

The room is decorated in a jubilant way, (Or at least in a way that Jamie might think is jubilant) and a nice moddable array of food and drinks are provided as well as several "Utopia Stations" that everyone can attend and use for their delight.

[Wait for the OCD is up!]

After handwavy shopping for supplies and food, Peter and Isabel decorated the Common Room and hung a banner across the back saying  "Congratulations on Surviving Our First Week of Classes!"

A big cake of whatever flavour you want to mod saying much the same thing, soda, chips, and lots of other food were laid out on the table along with poppers, kazoos, noisemakers, and other party favours and games.

In short, the Common Room was set up for a big Student Council sponsored party for all students old and new.

{OOC: Isabel modded with permission.  Have fun modding the party favours and games and food available!]

Anders had gone back to his room after Ares's class and taken a long nap. Luckily for him, he didn't have any classes tomorrow -- which was good considering that now his sleep schedule was going to be all wonky.

Anyway, he had finally hauled himself next door to the common room, where he was devouring a chicken Caesar salad about the size of a small jacuzzi while watching cheesy old action flicks.

"Wow, the stunt bottle over the head really is universal, apparently."

After realizing she hadn't taken her turn at feeding the voracious hordes recently, Zero made a trip down to Ching Tai and returned with prodigious amounts of Chinese takeout, which she set up in the common room. Then she helped herself to some ginger chicken and lounged around watching "Mighty Capin' Justice Magicians" on the TV. Her good deed for the day was done.

Number 6 was peering over the edge of the roof with a pair of field glasses, taking notes on the students passing by and jotting down suspicious behavior. He would find out which were the prisoners and which were the wardens...

[OOC: Ping to the OCD "Being Watched" thread if you want 6 to see you on the school lawn and what your character is doing as they are idly passing by. No action is too mundane for suspicion. Obviously, the roof is also open for your interactiony needs.]

ETA: [And 6 has fled the roof! OMG can't keep that up, peoples. You're all completely awesome. No new pings to 6 in the threads (I will continue his existing interactions). Roof remains open for all non-6 conversation.]

After taking a shower, Tori made her way to the common room. She turned on the television, finding some cartoons to watch.

It was a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't really anything good on the television, so cartoons it was.

Tori made a bowl of popcorn and sat down on the couch, trying to pass the time before the party.

[OOC: Open!! Yes, I know Tori's being original. ;) SP is love!]

Well supplied with popcorn and munchies, Dean settled down in front of the tv to watch a monster movie marathon he stumbled upon. There were a lot worst ways to spend an evening, he thought with a contented sigh.

Aeryn has been going for walks and runs since getting back from LA, but she hasn't made it back to the gym yet. She has no idea how that happened. Besides, she's always curious as to which new students show up here. She heads down with her gloves, stretching a little when she arrives in the gym, and then starts laying into the punching bag.

Plus, it's one of those days where she's actually working out instead of trying to kill it, which is always a good thing.

[Open!
For new students, there's only one punching bag, but Aeryn could give it up if needed. There's also the usual sports equipment and such, including weights and moddable workout machines.]

Two figures were on a mission. There were a lot of new people. Possibly too many new people. The figures would never be able to memorize everyone's names without a visual aide of some sort.

Fortunately, they had a lot of name tags left over from the last time they did this. The red-haired figure carried the list of rooms where they may have been new people. The brown-haired figure shoved two name tags and a Sharpie under the doors of those rooms. Unfortunately, the list wasn't quite accurate, so it was really kind of a crap shoot as to who got the tags.

It was the thought that counted, though. And the thought in this case was that this would make it so much easier to remember names, which would also help everyone be more polite.

It was a win-win scenerio.

[OOC: Peter Parker and Alanna (who has been modded with permission) are being stealthy and attempting to distribute blank name tags to all of the new students. If you would like to receive a name tag and wear it, or receive a name tag and not wear it, or not receive a name tag, or not receive a name tag and complain about it, it's all up to you. This is for both new and old students because Peter and Alanna really have no clue who all they're delivering this stuff to.

Also, you don't have to write your actual name down or anything. *hopes for a Seymour Buttes*

Actions are okay to broadcast, but please keep the identities of the stealthy figures a sekrit. Thank you.]
[identity profile] water-wonder.livejournal.com
Tori found that she couldn't sleep any longer, so grabbing a book and a blanket, she moved out into the common room.

She sat down to read and just mull over her first day at Fandom High. And perhaps she'd get to meet even more people today. At that thought, she couldn't help but smile.

[OOC: Open to everyone! SP for a bit since I'm going to be running about for a little.]

Dean was in the kitchen, humming Christmas carols absently as he cooked breakfast that consisted of the bacon and eggs and French toast alone with the usual breakfast stuff. There was also egg nog along with the usual orange juice and coffee because hey, Christmas Eve Day.

In the lounge part of the common room, Hunter was avidly stalking and pouncing on and wrestling with an empty cut down roll that wrapping paper comes on. Dean kept one eye on him as he cooked.

He didn't know how many students were still hanging around, but he figured those that were would probably appreciate food. After all they always did.

[OOC: food and post are both open to all]

Isabel decided that rather then go crazy and attempt to make multiple types of cookies, it was easier to just make a single kind in bulk. She's currently mixing what appears to be a metric ton of sugar cookie dough. There's an assortment of cookie cutters and a mulitude of icings and sprinkles to decorate the baked cookies with. Carols are playing and Isabel is making a very hard effort to be cheerful.

[Come have cookies!]
[personal profile] smartestone
Sometime either in the middle of the night or very early in the morning, a large, beautiful, undecorated Christmas tree ended up in the first floor lobby of the dorms. No idea how it got there, but it's not the weirdest thing to happen in Fandom. Neither is the fact that there are also boxes and boxes of completely moddable decorations lying out. Ornaments, garland, tinsel, it's all there. Also not weird is the fact that someone set up a little table with apple cider, hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies. And a little CD player with Christmas music CD's beside it.

The fact that someone stuck a big red bow on the alien fish tank? Okay, that's a little odd.

Really, the tree is lonely without decoration and people should really fix that.

[Welcome to the dorms' tree-trimming party! Post is open all day so no one misses out ICly or hopefully OOCly. Just try to state when your character is there if you can, just so no wonky timeline issues happen if someone's not around in the morning but pings someone who is. First floor lobby means teachers can join in, so have at it.
OCD is coming up!]

Blair was carrying both a sign and a petition today and he was very happy that to have his cast off for this sort of protest day. Marching back and forth before the door he chanted the message on his sign. "Education for everybody! Support the male troll scholarship!"

Every once in a while he would yell out; "Hunting sucks!" Just in case there was a rule about protesting random things in front of hunting class.

Evie had pizza.

Evie had a big warm sweater and socks and a throw and slippers and a huge Cherry Coke and pizza Jack bought her, after the clinic, and a couch in the lobby.

Dawn sprawled out across one of the chairs, leaning against one arm and her legs hanging over the other, reading a book she'd found somewhere--Deep Six--The Further Adventures of Lt. Tibbs, by Thom E. Gemcity. The prose was a little more flowery than it needed to be, but as a crime novel, it wasn't bad. The Thom guy needed to do a little more research, though. There was no way the stuff or people he was describing actually existed in real life.

Occasionally, she dipped one of the sugar cookies on the plate on the table (baked fresh from the Pillsbury tube o' doughy goodness) into one of the flavors of frosting, and scooping some up. Oooh, dark chocolate this time.

It was cold out, but not the kind of cold that meant to stay indoors. It was more of the cold that was refreshing and conducive to a bored teenager on a Sunday night.

Kawalsky checked his supplies. Baseball bats? Check. Bucket of jello-filled water balloons? Check.

He picked up a bat and a balloon. He tossed the balloon into the air and hit it with the baseball bat.

Sure, it was going to make a mess, but nothing that couldn't be cleaned up easy enough.

Isabel and Cameron had managed to get the campfire going in the main area. Luckily the weather was a lot clearer than yesterday and things had remained dry. There were several containers with snacks and beverages standing along the side and there was an abundance of marshmallows for people to get through a whole weekend with.

And now it was just a matter of waiting for people to show up and recapture the cabin spirit one last time before fall and winter truly set in.

Sam hadn't gotten nearly as much studying done over the weekend as he'd wanted to, so he'd settled himself in the third floor common room to go over his class notes. He had markers, pens, and highlighters of various colors, and was doing a fairly good job of going through everything, until he'd made the mistake of laying down on the couch.

His notes were on the floor now, and those light snoring noises could be taken as an indication that he was pretty deeply asleep.

The mats are out, the cd player is ready to play should music be needed, and cheerleaders are sitting behind a table ready to judge. Although as this is, of course, a cheerocracy, not a democracy, Buffy has final word.

There's bleachers for the audience and representatives of the press (the nuts are for the squirrels, not the newspaper journalists. They get coffee). This will be an afternoon of short skirts, cartwheels and above all CHEER!

For Friday the thirteenth, Zero had decided to have an impromptu scary movie marathon. She set up an array of snacks, including popcorn, pizza, soda, and candy, and stacked her DVD offerings on the coffee table.

Today's movies include...

Death in a Fence
Death in a Fence 2: The Fencening
Butterflies of Hate
Bastard Fish
Sheep With Cold Ears

and
Dancing in Blood

Zero decided to start with that perennial classic, A Bunch of Losers Arguing Over Who Gets To Be Zero. It was her favorite.

Alanna was spread out on a couch, her laptop balanced on her stomach and Faithful next to it. There were scrolls spread out on the floor and table next to her as well as a few books. Drink a cup, record your reactions, keep going.
Whoever drinks the most wins a prize, courtesy of Prof. Abby.
