In front of the dorms, Lunch till 7th period
After being pelted by an acorn on her way back to the dorm after History of Art, Isabel returned at lunch time intent on using the projectiles as a means of practicing her powers. Being hit by an acorn was a little more painful then being hit by a pillow. But as time passed, she was catching more then she missed.
Hand out, a small pile of captured acorns next to her, she occasionally stopped and took a spoonful of yogurt.
[stop by and say hi!]

"Hi."
Then came the hail of acorns.

"Thanks for the warning. Are you out here tempting the hostile trees?"

He shrugged and smiled. "I'm glad you have a chance to do this."

Speaking of, "Have you seen any of the hedgehogs I heard about?"
no subject
"I haven't seen the hedgehogs yet. But it wouldn't surprise me to stumble across one in the common room later."

"Alfred is my tutor and he owns Cafe Fina. Come down to the restaurant sometime."

"How's it going?" he asked, waving aside a barrage of acorns.

Anakin sighed and began juggling them.

The half dozen incoming acorns let her know exactly what the tree thought of that. Her hand went up and she could feel that she'd caught some but was pretty sure not all of them. Flinching, she braced for impact.

"Yeah, her dresses would take forever to dry out," Anakin said with a smile. "The Senatorial robes of Naboo were a bit on the...ridiculously elaborate side."

He sat down, cheeks a little pink. "When I first saw her, I thought she was an angel." He laughed. "I was pretty little."

"Of course if I'm being too nosy, feel free to tell me to back off."

He spun an acorn between his fingers. "Master Qui-Gon died a few days later in a lightsaber battle against a Sith Lord. The Council agreed to let me train and I've never looked back."
no subject
"Sometimes all you can do is keep looking forward. If you spend too much time looking back you lose track of where you're going."

He stopped an attacking acorn with a wave of his hand, grateful for the distraction.
"As for Tatooine? If you ever have a chance to go there? Skip it. It's a desert that only grows corruption and despair. Go to Naboo instead."
no subject
"That tree doesn't give up does it?" she laughed. "Roswell's in the middle of the desert, I think I've had my fill of sand. What so special about Naboo?"
no subject
He ran a hand through his hair. "I've seen a lot of places since then, but Naboo is still the most beautiful."

He leaned back on his hands. "I've kind of lost track of all the places Obi-Wan and I have gone--it's normally for a week at a time and all the negotiating tables start to look the same, you know?"
He was quiet for a moment. "When I was little, I used to look up and see the stars and dream of visiting them all. Now I know it would take a hundred lifetimes. But getting to do what I do? It's amazing."

Keeping a wary eye out for random acorn attacks, Isabel leaned back on her elbows. "That's a shame, that you really can't appreciate all the places you go. But I understand what you mean, my dad used to travel for work, he had the same complaint."
Looking up she studied the cloudy sky, "I've always looked at the stars and wondered which was was home. But I'm starting to realize I am home. I'm not saying I'm not going to do what they need me to. It's just, when it's over? I think I want to come back here. Maybe try for that normal life."

"Do you know what it is that you want?"

He glanced at his chrono. "I need to head into town, then start studying for finals again. I'd rather not be remembered as someone who had to repeat his senior year."
no subject
"See you later?"
