It was obligatory.

Walter was also settled in with glitter, markers, his maths book, and strange things involving poster board and fractals. He'd flipped on the TV to anything but Bitterwoman, which today meant Galaxy Quest. Reruns? It's not as though he knows. It's still new to him.

She came back to sit down on the couch. "What'cha working on?"

Walter grinned at how easily entranced Pippi was. "I have some spare posterboard if you want to try it yourself."

Pippi puts her math books aside. At that moment, the toaster pops ejecting not only two delightful slices of as-yet-to-be-fingerwiggle-buttery toast... But a swarm of butterflies as well.

Walter turned around and watched the butterflies flutter by. "That's much better than green slime."

"I'm inclined to agree." she said as several of them landed on her braids.
